As one of the reviewers suggested, here is an adult writer who has not lost the imagination and insights of a child. The poems are so accessible and so amusing - a great way to get children to love poetry, words and writing and for us adults to enjoy finding out that they are still children at heart. Brilliant!

Honestly, I grew up on these books. The Light in the Attic is my favourite, and I have memories of reciting these poems in school (Canadian Education System) and reading them to my brothers. I bought one for my brother and another for myself and we all keep reciting them around the house; my husband finds some of them great and laughing at others. I have even recommended to colleagues for their kids which I’ve been told they love. They’re quirky and fun for kids to read, and adults alike.

I have loved this book since 1975! Shel Silverstein was an amazing writer. Couldn't resist buying a copy as a stocking filler for my 7 year old granddaughter. Have not seen this particular book as it was dispatched directly to her home in the UK. But I have no doubt that she will love it! Delivery I am told (by my daughter) was very fast and package arrived in perfect conditon. I am sure that I will buy many more of these wonderful books for her.

I bought these for a friend and was impressed by what I saw: pristeen white cover, not a scratch, tear or fold on the cover and the inside is hilarious. It reminds me a bit (!) of Calvin and Hobbs. Funny, satirical, with good illustrations.

I bought this book for my children and all of their friends for their birthdays. Every child should have a copy. It teaches them that poetry can be fun, funny, and sometimes even have a deeper meaning (but not always, most of the time it’s just fun!)

If you know someone that enjoys poetry that has some humour and an original take on life then this is 100% for you. Slightly like Spike Milligan's poetry but geared towards more American tastes. We loved it
