Maternity Gown Bishop Sleeves Baby Shower Dress Wrap Side Slit Sweetheart Maxi Photo Shoot for Photography

I bought this dress after a pregnant friend showed us her photo shoot. I fell in love with the beauty of the dress… the bishop sleeves, the flowing quality, the neckline. It looked like a medieval or renaissance style dress, and it was burned into my brain that if I need a dress for something fancy, I should buy this dress. Like, I should buy the dress now despite being in my late 40’s with no intention on being pregnant again and make up reasons to wear it because it looked so pretty!Fast forward to this month, I was trying to figure out what to wear for my father’s funeral… yes… a funeral. Seems odd to consider this dress for that, huh? I was going to give a eulogy. I was gutted. I have back issues and lots of curves, and the last thing I wanted to think about was what to wear and would I look frumpy or drab. I wanted to feel beautiful and confident in the face of emotional despair and public speaking. I bought numerous dresses online but none of them looked really good, except for this one. I seriously wondered if it would be a good choice or not considering the event, but then I thought about needing something… anything… to go right that day. So I went with this dress. I felt amazing, and I felt I looked amazing. I don’t normally dress up anymore, but for this occasion, I did. And I didn’t care if anyone thought it was a bit much for a funeral. It was for my dad, not an extended family member, and I was giving a speech and shaking hands and losing babies and giving hugs and crying and laughing… the day was every emotion, and I didn’t worry about if my tummy was bulging or my thighs were thick or my arms looked bad. This dress doesn’t let body insecurities get in the way… just lets your beauty shine through.The dress IS long. If you don’t have time to alter it, consider using temporary hemming tape that washes off. I’m 5’8” and 270lbs with D cup and bought the XXL in burgundy. I did not hem the dress. I wanted it to flow. I simply grabbed the front of the dress up when I needed to take steps up to the altar or up on the curb at the cemetery. The leg slit is QUITE substantial, and I didn’t have a lot of time to make permanent adjustments, but instead tacked it shut and in place with multiple temporary stitches down to around my knees. That worked perfectly- the dress has a LOT of fabric and flows with every movement, so it was not noticeable at all. The fabric is very flexible and forgiving and breathes quite well except at the pits, but then again, it was quite warm in the church. I wasn’t sure if it was a subconscious thing since I hadn’t been to church in a while and was wearing red to a funeral, or if it was because it was near freezing outside and they had the heater on. But that’s the only place I sweat in the dress. Since the dress drags on the ground, it picked up leaves and dirt of course. I washed it with regular detergent on the delicate cycle and then dried it on delicate as well. The wet pit marks disappeared and the dirt washed out of the bottom of the dress. I didn’t notice any shrinkage either. It looked brand new.So! Long story even longer… you don’t have to be pregnant to buy this dress, and it doesn’t have to be for a photo shoot. I got so many compliments! So buy it and wear it to a photo shoot, to a wedding, a shower, a renaissance festival, a dance, a funeral… whatever and whenever you need to look and feel confident. It is gorgeous and easily makes you look and feel like a princess… scratch that… a goddess!

Overall the dress was beautiful, it’s not see through and is made of good stretchy material. I’m 5’7, 132lbs with a DD but, I ordered an XL and it fit perfectly. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars and not 5 is because the dress wasn’t exactly the color I thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be more of a burnt orange but it was more of just an orange color, thankfully my photographer has great editing skills that helped me get the exact color dress I wanted. Also the slit on the side is too high up, during my maternity photo shoot my photographer got a glimpse of my rear a few time 😅. The good thing was my photographer is a woman and she made me feel very comfortable so it wasn’t that big of a deal.

The material of the dress was way more then what I actually expected. My photographer actually kept it as she wanted it for future use for clients. It not cheap l fabric and actually weighs down so it’s hold down if it’s windy. Best choice I made for my maternity pictures. I want to buy another color to take once she arrives for family pictures. I was also able to make it work and take an open belly picture. This is the first time I leave a review but I wanted those expecting moms to know how beautiful this dress is and the color I picked was perfect. Could rate it more if I allowed me to do so.

Absolutely loved the dress. It shows cleavage, but is mostly modest. There's a TON of fabric so be sure to fluff out before photo snapping and unless you want all the thighs and belly showing, make sure to close the side with the slit or face the other direction. Otherwise, I felt like a very pregnant princess! I ordered my normal size of xl and it fit my chest just right and was lose and comfy in the arms and below the belly area.

I bought this dress from my maternity shoot. It ended up being my favorite dress from the photo shoot. It’s very stretchy and breathable. I am 5 foot eight and weighs about 235 pounds. I was worried it would fit weird it fit wonderfully, I was worried the bust would not cover or would be too big because I ordered an extra large and it’s so stretchy. Even if your bust is larger, it will cover it. I loved the sleeves, the most, and the slit that it had the slit does run pretty high, so pending it would help.

Im 5'3, 215 lbs, 8 months pregnant and 36d. For size refrenceI cannot say enough about how much I loved doing pics in this dress! It's super breathable didn't even sweat. The fabric is not see through, great quality and heavy but still flows so easily! If you're thinking about it, STOP THINKING AND BUY THE DRESS you will not regret it!!

I liked the fit & look. It was whimsical and fun. It photographed well, and I got many compliments. It worked for the shoot which is what I wanted it for.I didn’t LOVE the giant slit… I felt it made walking challenging. The fabric tended to get tangled, but I made due. It also is a very high slit, so if you’re tall, there’s potential that your underwear and abdomen will be exposed if you turn the wrong way. Just an FYI.For reference: I’m 5’8 and 7 months pregnant, 215 lbs & a DD at this point.Also: mauve and purple = same. I ordered both because I couldn’t decide what I wanted, and the same dress showed up twice.

Me encanto el vestido, la tela es muy buena, no transparenta y el coloro es súper lindo. El un poco pesado el vestido. Tengo 33 semanas de embarazo y me quedo Perfecto.
