Active People Bilibo Red Award Winning Swiss Design Toy

Arrive intact, nice and bright. Haven't had the chance to test it yet as it is for Christmas but happy with the material and the delivery

Excellent toy, amuses children for hours and helps them use their imagination in play.

My title for this review is based on what most people say when they first see the Bilibo. The answer is: it is what ever a child imagines it to be.Aimed at the 2-7 age bracket, we got this for our grandchild way before that time. He was 7 months at Christmas, but we think that having it around from now will give him the chance to make of it what he will at each developmental stage. At the moment he likes to put things in it (bowl down)), and push it along the floor (bowl up). He also likes to sit in it and be rocked or gently spun around.The Bilibo looks to be expensive at first glance, but when you consider it will be in use (in our case) for some 7 years ... The baby gym cost £50 and was used for just 5 months!This toy has won 10 awards, and is used in childcare facilities worldwide.

Bilibos are great! I've used them in my work with children and young people aged 0-19, and it's always really popular. Have just bought one for my baby. Some adults look at it and ask 'what's it supposed to be?' or 'what do you do with it?', but there is no specific function - that's the point, it can be whatever the child chooses. I've seen kids sitting in it and spinning, pretending it's a turtle shell, a helmet - and even (though I wouldn't recommend it - much older kids sliding down a slide in it). You know how people say kids often prefer to play in the box their toy came in? - well this toy has that sort of appeal, it can be anything. It's great to play with indoors or outdoors - with a load of other loose parts like tarpaulins, tyres, rope, logs, play barrel, parachute, sand or whatever you have and let kids use their imagination.

I've fallen in love with Bilibos. I've bought several for friends and relatives' children. All children who I've seen around bilibos seem to spend hours using them in all manner of ways from cooking bricks in them, making them into ponds to float ducks, using them as helmets and of course spinning round in them. Like any action toy you have to watch children in them because under 3's can struggle a bit with the spinning but if you are monitoring your child and watch how stable they are then you will know if they are ready to be left alone with a bilibo. I'm only a bit sad that they don't make them a bit bigger for older children and adults as well! Are they worth the money? - yes, yes and yes!
