The Action Bible

My kids love this style of Bible. They love marvel and dc etc so this is right up their street. The pictures are fantastic very comic esq and it is excellent at helping the children understand some complex issues arising in the bible. It opens up discussion about God, his word and plans and love for us. It is a great bedtime read. My children love to recap every evening, look at the pictures and wait expectantly for the next part of each story. Please note some more gruesome stuff is left out, or not so much detail in some parts but then you have the bible for that. In all it is age appropriate and opens up to children the validity of God in their lives and how to hear and see him, aswell as some incite to some very difficult questions that children always have. I would highly encourage any parent to read this to their child or for their child to read and enjoy for themselves. A great book for a gift!!

Great Bible. The artwork is fantastic. It is a good gift for anyone who is into comic books, art and is getting to know and loves Jesus.

I never could get what the Bible was about, really, until I read the Action Bible (currently 400/750 pages) It's amazingly well drawn, super colorful, dramatic - stimulating and appealing - similar style to DC Comics and Marvels. Chronological - at last I could understand what the story of the Bible is between Old and then New testament. It's an amazing present for children 7yo onwards, and IMPORTANTLY very educational for adults as it provides an easy to understand framework of the original Bible which may encourage readers to later attempt the true Bible with a less ignorant eye. If you have issues with attention span, short focus, and at the same time would like to deepen your faith or at least get your head around the Bible then you could consider this Comics. Its said to be faithful to the original "story-line". V Highly recommend.

I have been struggling with reading the Bible for a while, and some of the books in the Old Testament seemed a bit boring to me, so I decided to check Amazon, to see if I could get a version of the Bible, that wasn't stuffy and hard to understand. Viola, imagine my surprise when I realized that the Bible has a comic version. As soon as I got the Action Bible, which arrived on time, and in very good condition, I was so engrossed in how the stories were brought to life, with the very artistic drawings. I am a woman in my 20s, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Bible, and haven't been able to put it down!! This Bible appeals to all age groups in my opinion, not only young boys, but girls and adults too. And I have been able to combine reading the Action Bible with my KJV Bible. I am going to buy the New Testament version too.

This Bible is beautifully illustrated and i believe will attract most individuals. If you are a Christian and want your child (who finds reading the Bible boring) to read the Bible, this is the product to buy! Its like a comic and will keep your child interested. You can read out to youngsters and the let them look at the illustrations. I believe this Bible is suitable to give to older children too, who wouldn't read the Word otherwise. My teenage nieces showed a lot of interest in it. It is a great present for the young generation of today!

Previous generations, as part of a normal Christian education, got a great wealth of Bible stories and Biblical history. Sadly that is no longer true. So the Action Bible fulfils a very real need. It retells in comic book form all the stories that we older ones heard as kids, stories that gave us a solid grounding in understanding Scripture. The book is full of beautiful comic artwork, and simple-to-read, really accessible speech bubbles. A TEENAGER WILL READ THIS! I showed the first copy I bought to a young friend - who responded so positively that I gave it to them. I bought more copies to give away to (mainly young) acquaintances interested in knowing more about the Bible and Christianity - but without the time, discipline or inclination to read long chunks of Bible. It has been very positively received. You can open almost any page at random and be charmed by the beauty of what you find. I'm sure I'll be back to order many more copies in the future.

I really love this. Telling the stories in pictures. I find I sometimes take a story in better when there's a picture. I enjoy absorbing the story of salvation using this book. I haven't read it cover to cover. I enjoy sitting in the evening with it and focussing on something of God with the pictures in this book. I've never seen another like this. Accessible for younger than myself. If you were or are into comics then this book is a "must".

The ultimate Bible-reading experience! A wide range of stories from the Old and New Testament, all painstakingly cross-matched against the relevant verses in the Bible. The stories are somewhat condensed, sometimes two or three pages per short extract, but that is hardly surprising as so much is included. There are nevertheless 750 pages of full-colour comic-strip, often with a wry humour and some larger-than-life characters. An excellent way for children to learn and also a great way for adults to refresh their memory! Overall, a great treat for all, with some terrific artwork and well-interpreted dialogue which does as much justice as one can to the original.

My 9-year-old LOVED this and has read it cover to cover twice already. She's often bored by Bible stories she's 'heard a million times' but this Bible really changed her relationship with the scriptures and has allowed her to understand and connect with the stories in a totally new way. We all love the Action Bible and have recommended it to lots of friends!

I bought the action bible for my son who was 10 years old at the time. He likes comic books so I thought this would get his attention. I read it myself to make sure it is biblically accurate before giving it to him. It is in fact accurate but a little abridged when it comes to details behind some of the stories. For example it summarizes David’s journey from poetic God fearing shepherd to king of Israel. Touching all the major points but not getting to in depth on any of them. Overall I would recommend this bible for children ages 8-12. The artwork is intriguing and lends to the storytelling. Just the kind of thing to interest kids enough to enjoy reading it.

Ho cercato una Bibbia in stile Graphic Novel a lungo, ma alla fine sono giunto a questa opera impressionante realizzata con estrema cura da Sergio Cariello. I disegni sono fantastici e curatissimi in quanto cè la mano di Sergio Cariello che è un professionista del settore. L'Action Bible è davvero meritevole, anche se predilige la lingua inglese: ciò non rappresenta alcun problema (in quanto è di facile lettura / comprensione grazie ai disegni). Se pur la narrazione, le storie siano accelerate rispetto ovviamente alla Bibbia, questa opera consente di immedesimarsi nelle storie dei Ministri del Signore, Profeti, Amici del Signore oltre a descrivere la Vita del Signore Gesu' con semplicità e chiarezza. Mi sento di consigliarla a tutti visto e soprattutto di prendere in considerazione l'opera della KINGSTONE BIBLE che è davvero ampia. Sia la Kingstone che questa Action Bible sono validi approcci destinate a tutte le generazioni per far conoscere la storia del Signore e la Parola del Signore attraverso la rappresentazione grafica, rivivendo e studiando il passato - presente - futuro. ✏️ Quick thoughts to supplement my video demonstration. 📍 Are there enough stories? Incredible number of stories (over 200)--this thing is THICK and solid. I'm surprised this isn't a $50-70 book. 📍 Message content: Is it accurate? I liken this Bible to "The Message," in that it's a paraphrase. Really I am ashamed there are some who claim this Bible "isn't detailed" enough or doesn't represent the Bible... that's because it's not the Bible. Similar to the Sistine Chapel, it explains Biblical truths in an engaging, dramatic, and artistic way that is relevant to our culture's art-form (i.e. graphic novels). In the same way it would be unfair to see the Sistine Chapel and complain how Michelangelo painted Cane and Able in the nude. It's an artistic interpretation. But yes, it can and will definitely get people closer to God, in the same way our great Christian artists move and inspire people towards God using their artistic talents. That said, it's not a replacement for the Bible. But an awesome tool nonetheless. Get it! 📍 Are the illustrations to graphic? No, they're tastefully done. Actually considering the Bible's rather violent history, there should be a lot more blood. But there's not. I'd rate this PG depending on the maturity of your child and his/her understanding of Biblical text. 📍 Who's this for? I'm 29 years old (Theology Major too), and I love it. Perfect for teenagers or kids you're looking to get hooked on Biblical studies. Buy several and give them away as gifts! 📍 Bottom line: would I recommend this product to one of my friends? 👍 Yes, absolutely.
