The electric ice machine issued after hip replacement is awkward to handle, refill, position, etc., so I searched and found this. I freezes in two hours, remains flexible, stays cold at least the twenty minutes I’m allowed to use it per hour, and bands secure it to my waist and thigh. Perfect. So I ordered a second so I have one ready in the freezer each hour. Fantastic. It covers my whole hip and wraps it in cold therapy. Even my PT guy is impressed. But update… Update: the second one I received was of inferior material, had a whole different type of horrible light gray rough Velcro, and is totally unacceptable. I will be returning it. If they send me a replacement of the same poor quality, I’ll return it too.

This is a very nice ice pack. I recently had hip surgery and needed an ice pack for when I’m on the go. It freezes within an hour/ hour and a half and stays cold for about the same time maybe a little longer. When it’s very frozen it can be stiff, but only takes about 10 minutes to soften up. At first I couldn’t understand the thigh strap, but you have to wrap the strap the opposite way you would think. It is double sided Velcro so I put a piece of fabric over the top so my clothes wouldn’t get caught on it. The size it perfect for me I’m 5’4” around 180 lb, but the straps are very long! The fabric under neath is very soft. Another plus, it fits under my brace. I was worried it wouldn’t, but it’s perfect. I would suggest putting it on first and then a brace. The reason I give it a 4 star. It produces a frost on top which then will make anything you have over it wet. I had to set a designated hand towel with it so I had something protecting my clothes/blankets. Overall it’s a nice ice pack, it freezes fast and works well. I would recommend it.

After hip replacement surgery, it is very important to keep the hip area cold. Due to the location if the hip, it is difficult to securely fasten the icepack. Newgo did a very good job with design, the icepack can be securely strapped onto the hip area, provides a good coverage and fit.

I had hip replacement surgery and I knew that no ice packs that we had on hand would do the job. So I ordered this one. But I used it as a flat ice pack, and it worked well since I had an anterior replacement. It has velcro straps, but there is NO WAY that I could figure out how to make it work. So I was half happy. It did help me with my recovery but if I had to use it as it is shown in the picture, I would have been totally out of luck, For that reason, I was disappointed. Now I am trying to decide whether or not I should save the velcro straps!

My wife had hip replacement surgery and we got this to help with icing the area per doctor’s instructions. It is easy for one person to put on themselves and wear while walking. It stayed cold for about 35-45 minutes and longer if it isn’t a hot day. It worked really well and stayed in place. It wasn’t too heavy or put pressure on the incision. It was flexible and durable, though I didn’t put it through anything other than walking and resting. The size was perfect for her. She is 5’4 and 125 pounds. Highly recommend.

Works great for just having hip surgery. Stays in place, Velcro holds. Does its job.

I had a total hip replacement and this was my first time using it . It was the best . It help with the swelling and stop the pain . I didn’t know how to used it but the pack was to cold for my skin so I had to put towels under it . Idk if that was right but it help me out . The straps goes the length of your body size . It was very durable . Easy to use

I use this for bursitis and arthritis in my hip. Other products wrap right around but looked too bulky. This had great coverage, the straps were extra long and the velcro was strong. Packaging was great. It even came with a freezer bag and a nice note from the manufacturer. Super product. Stays cold for a good while and still soft enough out of the freezer to use immediately. One side has a protective covering so you don't need to put a cloth between the gel pack and your skin. Perfect size for back, hip, thigh, knee, or shoulder thanks to its great design. Highly recommend!

Brilliant! Great quality, well worth the price. Freezes lovely in the bag included stays nice & cold, straps very secure to you, inside part that touches you is a soft velvety feel unlike most just plastic. Very comfortable. Invaluable item during my current recovery from a double hip replacement. Highly recommend, especially for those after surgery!
