Calypso Once a Day Sun Protection SPF 50

We tried this product having used a more expensive one before. I was very impressed as protected us in the Egyptian sun for 8 hrs with neither of us burning. It also seemed very water resistant as we were dipping in and out of the sea. It’s easy to apply which I did in my hotel room before going to breakfast. Goes on easily, does smell a bit but soon fades and absorbs really easily. I recommend smoothing it on skin rather than trying to rub it in. I will definitely be buying it for our next holiday as such value for money

Purchased a couple of bottles of these to take to Majorca for my kids. It was 35° most days and I'm pleased to say the lotion worked well. Only needed to apply once a day and was fully protected. The lotion itself is more like a clear gel, goes on great and doesn't take long to soak in. Bit of a tip: do not rub the lotion in too much as it starts to get bitty on the skin. Once applied leave it to dry on its own for a minute or so.

This is a once a day suncream. Teachers said they have not got time to be Applying suncream to all the children in school and advise parents to buy once a day suncream. My children haven’t come back and it has protected them. It’s easily absorbed And I’m even using it on myself now

I've used the calypso SPF 30 and 50 and both seem really good, I was out all day and applied first thing in the morning and again after lunch because it was a long day in the sun, I didn't burn with the SPF 30 at 20 degree full sun all day. I've now tried the SPF 50 just because of the extra protection and aren't bothered for a tan but there's a big difference between them, the SPF30 is much thinner and feels like alcohol gel and doesn't feel sticky at all which is great but the SPF 50 however is much thicker and leaves my skin sticky like some other sun creams which I hate so I might try the SPF 40 next time and see what happens. This WILL stain clothes so don't wear white and let it soak in for a while before getting dressed, it does say this in the instructions along with its only water resistant for two 20 minute swims so don't think you can swim all day with one application

So this stuff is greasy and sticky. Even 'dried' its tacky. That said, any sunscreen claiming not to be is probably lying or doesn't work. Put it on in the morning so i could wash my hands after, its thick like honey and you want to spread it out quickly as it does dry on quite rapidly. Spent the whole day walking around in the sun on a hot June day and didn't burn so it does the job. Still hate wearing sunscreen but this is the least upsetting one i've found.

Works well as a sunscreen but stains clothes yellow. Couldn't get the stain out so it ruined brand new clothing.

Good for sun protection all day but dreadful for clothing.Used on son who wears white school shirts. Applied whilst wearing a tshirt, had breakfast and let the sun lotion dry in, approx an hour later he out white shirt on.......hideous brown stains on collar and sleeves where contact has been made during the day. Washed with Ace stain remover no better. Calypso customer care not very helpful. Hard to know what to use when they have to wear white at school but you dont want to trash their uniform! If you dont wear white or cream then would recommend but if wearing white or cream steer well clear!

Great idea, not worried about my child being out all day. A right fat the 1st time u use it-gotta apply and then reapply 10 mins later. Also no nice scent. Just a kind of greasy oil. U have to wash hands well after u apply it-cant just rub it in like normal sun cream.
