Somersets Maximum Glide Shaving Oil Extra Sensitive, 60 g, DS7

I hadn't tried purely oil based shaving gel before, but I after I gave this a try, I was really surprised. It's a lot less messy compared to gels or creams and it leaves your skin feeling supple after shaving. All you have to do before you shave is, apply the oil, a few drops works, massage into beard, wait a minute or two then shave. I normally don't wash my face after as I like how the oil makes my face feel, it has this nice but fresh stinging sensation.

I wish that I had found Somersets Maximum Glide Shaving Oil sooner. As a man who shaves his head every day, I've used dozens of oils, gels and creams over the years. None have delivered the protection, clean and crisp shave that this one does. It cuts shave rash down to an absolute minimum, is far better at shielding small spots or bumps from the razor than other similar brands, and delivers a shave that is so close my family have even noticed. From the bottle design to the oil inside, this really is the best oil that I have ever used. If you need a close shave on sensitive skin, this is the oil for you.

Nice shaving oil that does the job. Having used this over the past twenty years I find it a really good oil and removes the need for aftershave (though you might use this for extra comfort when using cheaper blades)

I've been using Somersets Shaving Oil for well over 20 years, initially skeptical about the use of just three drops to lubricate my face I soon was won over. Before this I'd tried loads of alternatives, but nothing came close to this one, It protects my skin, I love the smell and in all the time I've been using it I've not nicked myself. I have tried other oils but nothing works as well. I would heartedly recommend this!

Good value excellent lubrication

Bought this as I travel internationally for work multiple times a month and was trying to reduce what I take and stay within fluid restrictions. I've now used this with both a standard cartridge razor and a double-edge razor and it worked brilliantly with both. Just 5-6 drops applied after washing in very warm water led to an incredibly smooth and cut-free shave. Splash with cold water and moisturise to finish. Makes a lot less mess than foam too. It's got a subtle, pleasant fragrance and seems to leave the skin in great condition. Been using for a little while and I'm a complete convert. Bought a second bottle so I could have one in the bathroom and one in the soap bag that never gets unpacked.

I've been using this for 25 years and nothing comes close. The cost seems high but a bottle like this will last more than a year. I have always had sensitive facial skin and this is the best product to protect it against a really close shave. No one I have introduced this to has ever gone back to other products. I marked the "Presentation" as one star bit who cares? It comes in a form that works. Not keen in the menthol scent but then again it's far better than the KoS product that copies it, is not as good, costs more and has shed loads of money promoting it. The only downside to this is that it's not easy to buy other than online so keep a spare or order before it runs out.

Generally I find creams, gels and foams dry my skin, so I prefer an oil. I have tried numerous oils all didn’t quite work for me until now. This maximum glide is amazing; 2-3 drops on your face and you get a smooth, clean and nick free shave. I shave my head which can be an issue; but not with this product. It really is amazing and good value for money. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. Use with Gillette Fusion blades for a perfect shave!

This product is great for shaving your head ! I’ve used it numerous times and it’s a standby for my shaving regimen. Head Shaving is something of an art if one wants to have a smooth , bump- free result . For me , I apply this product ( only a 2-4 drops will do ) on my hands when wet , rub them together, then gently apply all over my head , wait about 30 seconds, apply my favorite shaving cream or gel , then shave with a new razor . The end result is a smooth , irritation- free scalp , that has a cool feel all day long . A+

I discovered Somersets over 20 years ago and it changed the way I shave. Just 3-4 drops in the palm of your hand, rub them together and apply. You get a much closer, fresher shave than with foam. I used to buy the small bottles, but this larger one lasts for months on end. And you can use it for a wet shave, but also with a machine shaver. 1 drop is enough to help it glide better on the skin.
