Ultra Sun; same formulae, different experience
I was skeptical for a long while but eventually I had to cave in and get it. Ultra Sun is a beautiful game. Slight tweaks and colour upgrades here and there but apart from that it is essentially the same game as Sun. Until you get near the end of the game, without spoiling, the end game and post game alone is definitely worth the purchase. Although the main game stays generally the same (with a few twists) the fact that you can catch DIFFERENT Pokémon from the get go changes the experience, I had a completely different team in this one. And as usual the team changes many times across your journey! I had a blast playing this (and still am) and definitely recommend this game to new and existing Pokemon fans on the fence.

Superb - 9/10!
The game is a fine ending to the mainline games featuring on handheld consoles, I've been a fan for a long time and played through all of the games, and as much as I enjoyed Sun Ultra Sun blows it out of the water, the story line is better, there is a wider range of available Pokemon, and to top it off the speed of the game is much smoother, the first section is still a little "holding hands" style but after that it's great to play. I'd recommend this to old/new players alike. A solid 9/10 from me! My only gripes would be Festival Plaza, which is still a bit of a pointless gimmick in my opinion, and the Photo centre is also a bit pointless, but it's each to their own so I can't complain!

20 years of Pokemon, a final farewell to the 3DS.
Having played Pokemon Moon before getting this game, I felt that Pokemon Moon had some things missing. Ultra Sun (and it's partner game) is to be the last of the main series to be on the 3DS and Game Freak addressed that by extending the story, adding new sidequests and interactivity and allowing you to know more of the story of Alola and the characters rather than just Lillie. The story is set two years later than the original Pokemon Moon/Sun in an alternative story where the "chosen trainer" (you) never arrived and things had changed. More pokemon are discovered and you are once again sent out into the world with your starter pokemon to collect, battle and complete the Island Trials set by the Captains of each island. The changes are subtle but you soon discover that there is a new team on the block, Ultra Recon Squad. No spoilers from here on in but I shall list some of the changes. Rotom Dex is more interactive and if befriended, it gives you Alolan version of "O Powers" (X &Y) in the form of Roto Loto which you stop the rotating wheel to collect your powers from Egg hatch to PP restore, even improved capture rates. The menu buttons are more decorative and it is easier to save. Ride Pokemon are now able to be registered to the + pad for easy access. Starter interactions in Pokemon Refresh has changed a little. Pokebeans seem to make your pokemon friendlier quicker. Pokemon from other regions have appereared giving you more choice of types for your team. 3 New Ultra Beasts. A reward for completing the Pokedex including an outfit. Festival Plaza has a Battle Agency (loosely based on Battle Factory). Post game episode featuring Team Rainbow Rocket. The final pair of Pokemon games to grace the 3DS (which is a shame) but an intelligent idea to do so rather than making the rumoured "Pokemon Stars" in my opinion. It allows us to trade version exclusive pokemon and help one another out. :)

Heavy on dialogue! Can be slow and long winded.
Item was exactly as described, perfect new condition still sealed. This isn't against the seller at all, the game is okay. Theres alot of cut scenes and talking which is annoying when you just want to play the game. I imagine some people like this but it isn't what I enjoy as I have been playing pokemon games since the beginning and they have taken the new games in a different direction, so. This being said. If you're old school like me just be warned that its heavy with dialogue, slow to start and remains slow moving throughout due to this dialogue, it lags during double battles and the story isn't one of their best. Just my opinion though, I know alot of people who enjoyed this game.

Same thing as last game
The game itself is okay. It's 99% same as the previous game. If you need to decide if you want to get this in case you have the last game: If you play competitive online, it's an upgrade, go for it; if you don't play competitive and just go for the plot, you're not missing out. If it's your first Pokemon game, this is an okay introduction to the series. A few new features were added that could have as well been in the previous games which does make it feel like a pricy DLC instead of a standalone, the photographing being more fun this time. I'd rate it higher if it wasn't for the Dex that won't shut up.

A worthy game so see out the franchise on the 3DS system
I love this game. I can't understand why it's been getting a bashing by some who compare Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon negatively against Pokémon Sun and Moon. There's more to do in these updated versions. Mantine surf is really fun, the Ultra recon Squad is far better than the Sun and Moon post game, and in the Ultra versions we get all the legendary Pokémon to catch as well as the return of all the heads of all the criminal organisations to date in the new post game story. It's a huge improvement over Sun and Moon.

Can't be played in the UK!
We were sent a game which was only playable in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Singapore. This was not the same as the photo and we assumed from the reviews that it could be played in the UK. Disappointed and had to return.
