I got these to replace an old Bic from the 2000s which finally gave up on me. These are the only mechanical pencils I've found which a General Pencil Co extender will fit on (but I haven't tested all in existence). I'm an artist and rather scatterbrained so having enough to not worry about ever again was appealing, but primarily I wanted something that would be pleasing to look at as well as use. They succeed on two points but it seems like Bic cut out a few steps of finishing: there's a noticeably-sharp line of flashing on the barrel and eraser-holder. These are cheap so I just scraped the barrel with a utility knife til it was smooth... but it's probably more environmentally-friendly for Bic to do this into their own industrial waste/recycling stream rather than having fine plastic particles going into my home garbage bag. And I'll have to do this on each of them. So -2 points for convenience, since they're annoying to hold without doing so. There are also some pale stress or scuff marks in the plastic on the eraser holder for some reason, I'd guess due to one of the machines at the factory needing maintenance. Other than that, they feel lighter than my old ones somehow. While my gut reaction was "cheap", I actually like the slight weight reduction for drawing. Additionally: These are made in Mexico, not China. So for people avoiding the latter, as of this review (2024) these are a good option for inexpensive mech pencils.

I LOVE the vibrant colors in the typical Bic pencil quality. Make this more available in stores! I had to find it in my college bookstore and that's a shame!

Bic has never let me down. I started using this brand when I was in elementary and middle school. I am now in university and they have never let me down. Best performance on the market. Durability on par with that reliable bike you had as a kid.

I've had bad luck in the past with BIC products not having the colours shown, or a terrible distribution, but this pack had between 5 and 7 of each of 10 colours, with 61 total pencils. Great price for the quantity with the expected quality. As other people have mentioned, these are refillable and I've never had one break from regular use, so they last until you lose them or use them as a screwdriver.

Really cheap for mechanical pencils. Good pencils for kids.
