I bought this folding wooden chess board set as a gift for my boyfriend, who is obsessed with chess, and he absolutely loves it. The board looks really nice and classic, and the folding design makes it easy to store the pieces without losing anything. The wood feels solid and well made, and the pieces have a nice weight to them, which makes playing even more enjoyable. He uses it all the time—at home, with friends, and even just to set up positions and practice. Overall, this was a great gift and definitely worth it. If you’re buying for someone who loves chess (or wants to get more into it), this set is a great choice. Also a great value for the price if you dont need something too flashy, plus the fact that it comes with two other games!

Easy night of family fun. Looks clean on my coffee table and pieces are high quality. Feel glossy and nice. Could be more sturdy and heavy but it’s fine for me

Shipped quickly, arrived safely and in good condition. Checkers/backgammon pieces are one in same and made of wood. Chess pieces are of a decent size and made of a hard plastic material. All pieces come in zip lock baggies. Wooden case is well made. One of two drawbacks for me personally is there is no handle for ease of transporting. The second drawback is the instructions are printed on the box sleeve which A) Is tiny print and B) Not clear or thorough enough for Backgammon and Chess. Purchased a separate Kindle Book on How To Play Chess and looking for one on Backgammon. I bring this to work (I'm a Nanny) so a handle on it would be beneficial. The boys I watch want to learn to play Chess and Backgammon. To begin with we played Checkers which my 9 year old enjoyed immensely!

Great starting board for me until I want to upgrade to magnetic and better color finish (darker & lighter squares) gives me no problems. I play chess not backgammon but if I wanted to I can just flip the board lol great set.
