Impatiently waiting
This series is a wonder, and I am very impatiently waiting for the next installment! The world Paul has created is fun and exciting, while still believable. The characters are well-balanced and relatable, and I wish I could befriend them! I also wish I could thrash some of them (just sayin').Although the main characters are the obvious choice of favorites, the supporting characters are just as amazing. I am always happy to 'see' familiar faces. Well, familiar friendly faces.Great series for older teens, young adults and older. Can't wait for May!

Struggle for Power!
Conflicts on several sides. Kargen is left in charge of Therengia. Athgar and Natalia are trying to stop The Family while gathering more support for Therenia, in this interesting story for the balance of power.

For Therengia
Two storys in one...Athgar and Natalia are off trying to stop the family’s influence; they end up with Athgar rising to the next level in controlling his inner spark and defeating a powerful Sartellian. Meanwhile, while they’re away, Kargen and the rest of his Thune group end up in a war with the Norvorak Barons because they totally disrespect an Orc. Totally keeps you thining, moving along, and Paul throws in the characters and petty kingdoms from his other books...Nice Touch. An incredibly enjoyable story!

The vortex is amazing
I think Athgar had the most fun in this story. Read it and see if you agree.Mr Bennett is the only author whose battles I read without skipping through them. The battles make you hold your breath. They are just long enough that you don't pass out. Most of the characters are good hearted folks you want to root for and the bad folks, you just want them to disappear.

Pure entertainment!
I've always ranted about these novels and this author as being "masterworks" created by a truly gifted writer, and after reading this latest installment, my view hasn't changed...Read and enjoy! I have received this book with no obligation, nor an expectation of a review...This is an honest review.

Action and Intrigue
Vortex. The Frozen Flame Book 6, by Paul J BennettAction and Intrigue. I am totally invested in this fantasy world. The story keeps flowing with Athgar and Natalia far from home and embroiled in foreign politics. With elegant and crafty solutions, Kragan the Orc Chieftan faces off against the rebellious nobles in Norvask. Another battle in foreign lands against apparently insurmountable odds showcases Natalia's skill as a battle mage and Athgar's brilliance in battle. The maps are excellent, the chapter headings ground the story line and the writing is clear and succinct. One caveat, I found the last battle hard to follow. The battle line up map was clear but it was difficult to picture the movement and positions of the opposing forces, especially the action near the stream. I read this several times and was still confused. Perhaps I need 3D with a board and pieces to move about.
