is this lense compatible with OMD E-M10

It is very much so. Lightening fast autofocus. Lovely Bokeh. Sharp. Light. Great lens. I have it with my Olympus OMD 10. Enjoy it for portraits indoors and also outdoors.

is this lense compatible with Olympus E500 and if not, I have adapter OM lense to 4/3 system

No this lens is only compatible with micro 4/3 cameras, not 4/3 cameras which your e-500 is. The om adaptor is no good either as that is for the old 35mm SLR lenses to fit your camera. Hope that is of some help.

im about to buy the olympus o-md mark ii body, i need to know if this lens will be fine for other shots not just portrait? as in an all rounder??

Hi, this is indeed a great portraiture lens that has received excellent reviews, it is also quite at home taking images of landscapes. As you are probably aware? this is a 45mm in micro four thirds format which is equivalent to a 90mm in the 35mm camera format which in term can make it a little tricky if trying take a family picture in a small room or a building or bridge etc? where you will need to back off in order to accomodate everyone and everthing in the frame. 85mm (35mm format equiv) is the professional photographers choice for portrait work as this lens is which creates beautiful out of focus backgrounds, therefore I would have no hesitation in recommending this lens. For a general walk around camera which is ideal for group shots "weddings etc" I would recommend a 15mm (30mm equivalent in 35mm camera format) I wouldn't go any wider though if you are mainly looking to take images of family etc as you will more than likely get distortion ie people looking larger than they are.
