Works as it should
Looks OEM. Works like it should: I’m glad that I installed it. I would recommend this product. Much better than the license plate bracket back up cameras.

Perfect fit and somewhat easy to install.
I was very impressed with the overall quality of this setup. I replaced my license plate camera that I bought on Amazon a year ago. The lens fogged up making it impossible to see. Plus it wasn't a very good angle for hooking up my trailer. The angle on this one is perfect! There was plenty of cord to run it all the way to my console on my 07 quadcab. However, it does not come with a wire to activate the camera. You have to splice the "power" cable into your reverse lights or trailer connection. This cable is only about six feet long. My stereo deck requires a wire to attach to the reverse lights to tell the reverse monitor when to turn on. Luckily I was able to use the wire from my previous install.

Almost a great product - will see how the durability holds up.
This product was successfully installed and only a few things prevent me from rating it higher. The good: Tailgate handle assy installed easily and looks like an OEM part when installed. The OK: Picture quality is adequate but not stunning. During the day it is very washed out and hard to pick up fine detail. At night, in low light, there is a lot of fuzziness which is likely to be expected with this type of camera sensor. It functions for what it is intended for, but would have been nice if the picture was a little sharper and had better dynamic range. With all the mass produced mini-cameras embedded in cell phones, stepping up to a bit better sensor should not have been a significant cost driver. What could be improved: small improvements to the cable harnessing would make install a bit easier.First the power harness was significantly shorter than the video cable harness. It was not long enough to run the power harness all the way from the back of my truck to bring in though the firewall. I wanted to run the camera power off the same power circuit that runs the headunit so that if there were a short circuit, the only fuse that would blow is the radio fuse... so I needed to make an extended wiring harness for the power/gnd connections.Second, the portion of the wiring harness attached to the tailgate handle was too short to exit the bottom of the tailgate. The longer wiring harness needs to be fished up into the bottom of the tailgate handle to connect to the short harness on the handle itself. This means that if you need to remove the tailgate fore any reason once the camera is installed, you will need to remove the tailgate access panel to disconnect the wiring harness, remove the "long harness" from the bottom before removal. If the portion of the harness attached to the tailgate handle was long enough to exit the tailgate before connecting to the longer harness then one could simply disconnect the harness from underneath the truck and then remove the tailgate without having to open the access panel. Since I ended up making an extended harness for the power/gnd, I also made a connectorized extension harness for the handle to solve this issue.Third: Grommets - this kit is specific to Dodge Ram 02-05 trucks. The bottom of the tailgate and lip of the bed had nice oval holes for routing the wires out of the tailgate and under the truck. Since this is a place where the wires could chaff with repeated opening and closings of the tailgate, it would have been nice if the kit had included 2 rubber grommets to protect the wiring - again, should not have been a significant cost driverFourth: Wire harness loom. Since this kit is specific to a truck, the wiring has to follow the OEM tail light harnessing under the truck and along the frame rail. Since the wiring is exposed to the elements, I encased the harnesses I made in split loom to protect it. Would have been nice if the harnessing would have been pre-loomed as part of the kit.Lastly, the harnessing did not include a reverse-lamp trigger wire to trigger the head unit to switch to the reverse camera display. I ended up tapping into the reverse lamp circuit somewhere under the dash, however it would have been easier to tap into the reverse lamps at the back of the truck either directly in the tail-light harness or the trailer hitch connector. However this would require running another 20ft wire from the firewall to the back of the truck.Overall, I spent another $35 on additional materials to complete the installation and address the items above.Overall, I am happy with the end result. Will see how long the camera lasts and how well the plastic handle holds up to the sun and the weather.

Looks and fits like a factory unit would.
Bought this for the factory look. This unit fits perfectly in the place of the factory tailgate handle. The included video cable was more than long enough to run from the tailgate down the frame rail and through the front fire wall to the back of my stereo head. This was installed on my 2008 crew cab short bed 1500. My head unit is an aftermarket double din Kenwood. I did have to extend the power and ground cables because I wanted them attached in the engen bay and cab, but that was my personal preference. The power wires can easily be connected to the reverse lights and ground without extensions. The video feed is fairly sharp but not the absolute best. I have included images showing the image both during the day and at night(no extra lighting whatsoever). The actual handle feels slightly flimsier than the factory one but it still opens the tailgate flawlessly. Over all I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it.

Good upgrade for a 3rd gen dodge
Finished the install on my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 this past weekend so still fresh. (Will update if anything changes) Install was pretty easy for me (may not be for others). I didn’t need to drill any holes just fished the wires through the existing tailgate holes. Wire was plenty long enough for my crew cab, and I hid my cable under the carpet so well done there (should be plenty, even on a mega cab). Picture quality is ok, but it’s better than nothing. I can see pretty good even at night with no issues. So far I am happy with the product, hoping for longevity/durability. I do wish I could adjust the lines.

Works.
Here is a photo of what you can see when it is installed. It appears to work well.

Nice factory look.
The camera/handle fit like factory the handle. It has pretty good picture, especially for my cheaper stereo. Easy installation, for the price it is a great buy!

Would buy it again
First product I’ve found to fit this generation Ram with an OEM looking camAgree with others daytime quality is so-so for the money you expect high res cam but it does the job. Flip side at night performs better than old so called HD cam that it replaced. While it’s not HD gets the job done and you can make out objects fine just not going to be able to read the license plate frame behind you.Note old cam was wired into 7 pin plug reverse wire well after years of use the TIPM didn’t like the change in voltage and had to have it reset by dealer because the manual reset process didn’t correct issue of no backup lights. This cam I ran wire all the way back to the radio since it is powered by the 15 amp protected wire. With these newer cars I now use the painless add a circuit and manage all my power separate.Overall I would buy it again

Worth the money!
Not bad! The tailgate handle construction feels considerably cheaper than OE, so we will see how it stands up to use over time. The handle was shipped with the camera cover not even covering the camera, but there was no damage worth noting. The harness is of a fair length, should be sufficient to run from the dashboard of my truck to the tailgate, we'll see once I unravel everything and dig into the install. Overall I'm impressed, but they could absolutely use better quality plastic.

Tailgate camera
Very good buy, the only thing is the camera resolution is not the best of qualities but 100% better then not having a back up camera. Hooked it up to the Atoto 6 pro headunit great combo. Recommend strongly

Breaks easily. Flawed design. Good warranty.
Camera works fine. However handle is made from cheap plastic that is designed to break at a diviot built into the lever opening tailgate. This part is no where near OEM. It is designed to last maybe a year.Update:Contacted the company and they honoured their warranty. They sent out a replacement handle, just had to pay for the shipping. New handle has been working fine for a few months now.
