Worked out of the box
I bought a pack of these to flash an ESP32-based Sonoff smart relay, after having tried a CH340G-based adaptor that turned out to be defective. The first FT232RL adaptor I tried worked fine, and was detected automatically as a COM port by Windows 11. Pros: A jumper lets you select 3.3V or 5V data output, so you don't fry delicate 3.3V devices. All the main comms lines are broken out to headers (RTS & CTS, as well as the normal RX, TX, Vcc and GND), and there are lots of handy through-hole connections for other lines. Cons: No Dupont or USB cables included, and the connector is Mini USB, rather than the more modern Micro or USB-C, so it's harder to find an appropriate cable. The screen print on the board is very close to the header and jumper block, so it's hard to see which cable is which. Although the adapter worked fine for flashing the Sonoff device, it couldn't supply enough power to allow the ESP32 to fire up a WiFi connection.

Good Product and price point, just one point if you are using this with an ESP 32 CAM
My use case was to program the ESP32 CAM Module I found the 3.3V line on these modules a bit underpowered to program the ESP32 CAM module (brown outs and errors), but there is a simple solution: Set the jumper to 5V and connect the power output to the 5V line on the ESP32 CAM. My guess is the ESP32 CAM uses a bit more power than intended for this module to supply. Otherwise a great product, does exactly what it is intended to.

Excellent ready soldered with normal jumper between 3.3v and 5v
Excellent product. The reason I gave it 5 stars is it comes with pins already soldered and it has a simple jumper to switch between 3.3v and 5v as opposed to most FTDI where it's a solder jumper. It worked great once I figured out the mini usb cable I had lying around only had VCC wired. It was plug and play on Win 10 64 bit.

How to set it up on your PC for programming the Pro Mini.
It works just fine on Linux Mint after I installrd the software for it but have not been able to get it to work on Windows 10 yet.

Functional, but misleading documentation
These devices work to connect Arduino Pro Minis via USB to a host PC. However, the documentation suggests crossing over TXD and RXD lines, as might be expected. However, this is not so. TXD to TXD and RXD to RXD works. FT232RL Pro Mini Gnd ---------Gnd 3v3 NC 5v -----------5v Txd----------Txd Rxd----------Rxd DTR----------DTR

It works out of the box. It would be nice if the usb connector was microusb or usb-C, but that is a minor thing.
