Weber Bob Ross Master Paint Set R6510

What a difference good paint makes! I love this set. Especially after watching him on BBC4 week nights! This set has helped me paint lots of happy little accidents - that look amazing! I’ve never taken art classes but can’t believe what I’ve created so far. The paints are good sizes and you really don’t need a lot. The colour quality is rich and vibrant. Brushes and knife a pleasure to work with.

Interestingly the item displayed on the site is not the actual one you receive. The website shows and states "red box" master kit, and the received item is the other version in the "white box" master kit (I actually feel this is a better presented item and one that I originally searched for but was unavailable on Amazon site, though available in loads of other art shops). Also, when completing purchase, the small thumbnail beside the order changes to show the "white box" set. The kit itself arrived well packaged and prompt. The set is great quality, though the paint tubes differ slightly to the ones in the original photo. The dvd/bluray plays on standard xbox/player (see some reviews questioning this). All said, I am more than happy with the item and feel, although it is pricey, if items were purchased separately, would cost much more/be of lesser quality. Advice is to do research on Internet as to different sets and the variances to contents and packaging then possibly contact supplier to confirm which set you are getting.

I bought the master set and it comes with enough colours and tools to create a good painting without having to buy more to get started. You will need to buy some odourless paint thinner to clean up during painting & afterwards so don't forget that. You will also need things like a canvas and Gesso to prepare the canvas but these can be bought from local art suppliers to suit your budget (estimate about £10 - £15). The instructional DVD contains 2 videos, first a basic explanation of the items in the kit and how to use them, the second is one of the Bob Ross painting programmes to show the technique in action. There is also a small handbook giving guidance on how to produce your first painting. The set might appear a little expensive but in my judgment is reasoanble value for money. The brushes and tools you can use for a lifetime and the paints are sufficient for 4 or more paintings on a decent size canvas.

At first i was unsure about spending so much on an art set but i worry no more. You get everything (except the canvas - The Works website recommended for them) you need to create some fantastic painting no matter your skill level. The bob ross cd is fantastic and i have gone in search of his shows and wow!!!! So all the paints and brushes you need for loads of paintings. Only niggle is you quickly run out of white(well i did). Really recommend this and hope you have as much fun as i have.

Perfect gift for a Bob Ross lover! A bit expensive but great nonetheless!

Easy to install

At first I thought I was missing the fan brush, but it was under the box insert. It's good value for money, but it's BADLY presented. The DVD is rubbish video quality. They're using some old late 80's (or early 90s) footage of Bob that's not been restored or anything. It's like a really bad VHS rip quality. With all those teachers all over the world they should make a decent DVD showing the tools and techniques.

The same day I bought a bargain pack of canvases from Lidl. Combined with this, the Bob Ross set seems to be everything the boss needs to get started. Of course the paint won't last her long but it should be enough for her to decide if she wants to buy the large quantities of paints fneeded to make this a serious hobby.

This kit has everything you need to get started painting with Bob! It includes a 2 inch brush, 1 inch brush, fan brush, a fine point brush, and a mixing/sculpting knife. The colors in the kit includes: midnight black, phthalo blue, sap green, van dike brown, bright red, titanium white, crimson red, and cad yellow. The kit also includes liquid white, a less firm paint used to prime the canvass right before painting with the thicker colors. The kit does not includes other colors that bob uses in some of his works. These colors include: dark senana, Indian yellow, yellow orchard , phthalo green and prussian blue. You can getaway without using these colors while painting with Bob. You could also buy these colors separately online. Lastly, you could buy these colors at your local art store. Make sure they are firm paints except for the highlight colors that bob uses. These paints specifically maid to be thinner. If you do buy thick highlight colors that are not bob's brand, you can thin the paints using paint thinner or adding liquid white to the mix. The highlights are thin due to the fact that a thin paint will stick to a thick paint. When you highlight, it usually over the thicker paint you have already laid on the canvass. lastly, the kit includes a 1 hour DVD that explains what each brush does and a step by step tutorial on how to paint one of bobs peaces (direct episode from "the joy of painting"). This kit is a great value! It includes everything you need to paint with and like Bob. This was the first time I have ever painted. The attached photos are my first and second paintings I did with the Bob Ross Master Paint Set kit. -It is worth noting Bob uses a double primed canvass. Because the art supply stores i went to did not have double primed, I just used a white Jesso over the canvass to prime it a second time. Happy painting!

For Bob Ross landscape paintings, this set is good value. Looking at buying the individual brushes alone + the knife would cost almost as much as the set. Also this gets you 1/2 of the paints you require and you can still make 4 paintings just with the colors included in the set. The quality of the brushes and knife in the set is very good, along with the paints are high quality as well. You will still need a canvas, cleaning supplies, an easel and other products, but this set is probably one of the 3 main expenses you need to get started (the other 2 being the easel and the remaining paints). The packaging and feel of this product is very good. I have painted a lot of latex and oil based painting and the brush quality of this set is high quality. I did note some complaints from reviewers stating you cannot paint one of the paintings in the DVD video, however they do provide written and visual instructions in the set on how to paint the scene using only the colors contained in the set. I do think as a starting set for landscape painting you would be hard pressed to find a better starting kit than this that has everything you need to be ready to paint.

Mi piace disegnare e dipingere. Questo materiale è di ottima qualità, anche se è piuttosto costoso e se purtroppo il diluente inodore per pulire i pennelli non è incluso. Nel set è presente anche un DVD con una registrazione del pittore Bob Ross che mostra nel dettaglio la tecnica del "wet on wet" ("alla prima"). Lo consiglio.
