Very nice desk, difficult assembly
This desk makes great use of the smallish amount of space that it takes up. I see a lot of complaints about it being too small, but this was not the case for me. Indeed, it may be difficult to fit a computer tower in the compartment designed to hold a desktop. However, my tower, which has a total of two CD drive bays, fits perfectly. My gaming PC, which has four drive bays, would not (which is fine because it was never planned to go in this desk). Also my 13 inch work laptop (which I connect to my monitor and full keyboard/mouse when home) comfortably fits in the compartment directly above my desktop. For me, this setup is fantastic. The two drawers are useful. And I didn't realize the scanner compartment slid out, but it does. I don't have a scanner there, so I can't comment on if one would fit, but it would probably be tight. The two surfaces on either side of the keyboard tray are fantastic for hiding away a game console or some other device.I didn't install the "printer stand." It certainly would never hold my Samsung laser printer and seemed like it would just make the surface of the desk less useful. Because I didn't install it, there are three predrilled holes on the surface of the desk that are actually hard to see and don't bother me at all.My biggest complaint and the reason I'm only giving four stars is construction was terrible. I've built many furniture pieces like this, but this one was uniquely frustrating. I have read other reviews saying that the pieces sometimes had misaligned predrilled holes. I experienced this a little, but I had something far worse. One of the panels that hold the drawers on my desk had NO PREDRILLED HOLES AT ALL. It was then a massive pain to drill my own holes based on where they were on the other side. I managed to do it, but apparently got the lower drawer a little off, so it is slightly harder to slide. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying.Overall, however, I'm thrilled with this desk. As far as efficient use of space, for me, this is probably the best desk I could have gotten.

Good product and customer service
First off, this company (CyMax, aka RTA Products) seems to have decent customer service. My original order was supposedly delivered by FedEx, however, I never received it. Following Amazon's advice, I filed a claim with the shipper, FedEx, who told me they confirmed the product was delivered to the correct address and to contact the shipper. When I contacted the shipper, they also filed a claim with FedEx. FedEx supposedly told the shipper that the item was "lost". So I don't know why FedEx provided two different stories, but I do know that CyMax sent out a replacement desk right away. My only complaint here is that I wish they would have sent it priority shipping or something. As it was, it took over 3 weeks for me to get the desk.As far as the product goes, I'm going to have to agree with most of the other reviews. Once together, the desk seems very sturdy (for particle board). I love all the drawers and "nooks". The desk is just perfectly compact enough for a small apt. or office, and all the extra storage areas are great - allowing me to store extra paper and pc accessories -and freeing up space on the work-surface.As with others, my only complaint here would be building the desk. The instructions read great. (Hint - look everywhere in the box for them! The pamphlet was hiding between two small boards in box 1.) All the parts were there, and they even include a bag of "extras" just in case. It's just a LOT of steps and a LOT of building. I attempted to put it together myself, but after just a few minutes, enlisted the help of a friend. It took the two of us amateurs about 4 hours to complete building it.

Good if you don't mind a lenghty assembly, and inexpensive materials
First off I rated this review based on what I wanted to get out of it, so it might not be for you. I got a desk that looks good after assembly, is long but lacks depth, only assembling once, and is inexpensive. The materials for the desk are probably made from zinc or a cheap version of stainless steel which means they strip if your not careful. I used power tools to assemble and did a fairly decent job of not doing this. The extra parts included in the order helped with a few screw ups. Don't expect to be successful with taking it apart and putting it back together. Most of the parts seem like they would not handle another assembly. The pilot holes made by the company crack a little when putting screws in, but it doesn't really show. It is definitely a lot smaller then what I was expecting. It lacks depth and height a bit, but the length is decent. When I was assembling one of the sliders was mislabeled. I had to disassemble a few things to get it fixed out. Overall it took a few hours to put everything together, and I'm pretty coherent when it comes to things like this. The good things are that everything comes labeled in the boxes. EVERYTHING. Which means its easy to follow the directions. They even have some videos online for the first few steps. It's pretty stable after assembly. Not completely but good enough to try and put a pole on top and call some girls over. It really does look good completely put together. All the storage spots are large enough to hide a few things away. It can't be that bad if I like looking at it! Hope this helps.
