This is such a genius idea!!! so safe and reliable!!! I love knowing our daughter can have a watch that won’t fall off that she can keep with her and reach out to us anytime with any emergency! This watch is fantastic. It has so many cool features to get your kids off the couch, and I have some fun. You can control who they call and who they connect to. It is fantastic. As a mom of 8 I honed think this is such a perfect idea. We tested it out a few times when she went on her field trip. She was able to text us and give us updates throughout the whole experience. She even took photos with her watch. This is a must have for any parent!!! Phones get lost you have to put them down they get in trouble they’re not allowed to have them. The teachers did not even mind her having this watch at all. They thought it was a great idea.

UPDATE 1 month later: the watch has completely stopped working, so has the app. I can’t get in touch with anyone about it. Been this way for about a week. This product is absolute trash. Don’t buy it.————————————————————-I researched a ton of watches for kids and finally landed on this one.I’ve had it for 30 minutes and I already want to smash it with a hammer. I followed the steps exactly. Unfortunately the instructions are still for (I’m assuming) the x5, because the screen keeps telling me to insert the SIM card in a completely different location. It wont connect to our WiFi. I activated the watch with a plan, THEIR plan, and waited the suggested 60 minutes. It chimes every 30 seconds that there’s a system update. I can’t update it because it just won’t connect to the internet. I’m not even exaggerating, this thing chimes every 30 seconds, I can’t update it, and I can’t get rid of the notification. It’s infuriating.Update: my husband got the SIM card to work, by restarting it a bunch of times. But it still wont connect to our internet to do these miserable system updates.A few things to note:1. It only has voice call, no video call. I’m not sure why I thought it had video call, but it does not.2. Calls work through your normal phone calls, but you can only text through the app. If you send a text from your text messages it will not go through. The contacts have to be added by you, the guardian, through your app. So, anyone who wants to communicate with your child via text (like a grandparent or something) has to be added to their contacts, and has to do it through the app. This isn’t a complaint so much as observation. I do like that they can’t just call and text whoever they want.3. Xplora offers their own service plans. I was very excited to get it up and going and immediately purchased the 12 month plan not thinking about what I was doing. I didn’t want to spend the time going to T-Mobile and setting up a watch line on our account. I regret this. Xplora isn’t a huge company, certainly not as big as T-Mobile at least, their service leaves much to be desired. But now I’m locked in for 12 months. Take the extra time and set up the line with your service provider. I’ve seen warnings that it works with T-Mobile and that’s about it. All of the providers seem to have their own smart watch for kids so see what works best with whatever provider you have.4. My daughter has been playing with her watch this morning trying to get to know the features. It’s been about 30 minutes of pretty constant use, in our air conditioned home. It gave us a warning that the watch was getting too hot. I am very concerned that the watch will stop working if she goes outside in this 95° weather.To sum it all up: I would not buy this watch again, and I’d strongly discourage anyone else from buying it as well. I read that it was one of the best options out there though, so I’m not sure what direction to go in now.

Great way to be in touch with your kid. I got this because to be less concerned about where my daughter is and in case I need to talk to her. It is “closed” to message and call only the people I added in the app. The notifications I get on my phone are very useful. I also have access to her location and even set a safety zone where I get notifications when she in or out of that zone. Everything is working smooth and for now I am very happy with my decision to buy one.Setting up is where I would say that I had somewhat of a set back because when I was doing the first configuration I put my phone number instead of the number that was created for the watch. You just have to be a little patient because it might take about 20 min for the text to come with the number you will get for the watch. Otherwise it was fairly simple to set up.

great for replacing phones for children.. only can program & use numbers set by parent on the account.. safety 10/10

The media could not be loaded.  My kid is not ready for a traditional phone yet, so this is good in regards to learning more about responsibility.Pro: You can contact them. The watch and app are made so it is completely parent controlled.Con: The tracking works, but there are bugs to work out. Live tracking so far does not really work. I gave it a try as my kid rode home on the bus from school. It did not update.

Overall the execution is very respectable. But do not think that the watch is going to function natively like a phone. You cannot type and send an SMS message from the watch to an approved phone number. Instead, you can send a voice message or a predefined short text (not SMS!) message to an app installed on a guardian's phone. See the difference with actual SMS messaging?I could not successfully make a call from watch to the phone ("Call failed"), so cannot judge its voice call capability.So, to me, the product is just one step, although a big one, away from being a home run. So sad.

I got this for my 6 year old to keep in touch when she was getting picked up from kindergarten by someone other than myself. The calls are reliable and the voice message feature is great for her since she can’t select the pre typed messages yet. I like that I can see where she is with the GPS feature and that I can see the calls she makes. The process to add someone as an approved contact has a multi step process, which I appreciate for safety! The battery life seems to last a decent amount of time; and she is happy that it comes in her favorite color pink! We opted for a monthly plan that worked for us, and I’m looking forward to using this throughout her elementary school years.

My son loves this watch! He’s six and already figured out how to use it all on his own. Very user-friendly.

Die Xplora X6 Play hat meine Erwartungen in vielerlei Hinsicht erfüllt.**Pro:**+ Die Einrichtung der Uhr und der begleitenden App ist einfach (Barcode scannen)+ Der Schulmodus funktioniert einwandfrei und verhindert Ablenkungen während der Schulzeit. Nur die Uhr-/Datumsanzeige ist dann lesbar und es steht auch auf dem Display, dass der Schulmodus aktiviert ist.+ Klare Sprachqualität bei Anrufen und Sprachnachrichten.+ Die Auswahl zwischen digitalen und analogen Zifferblättern ermöglicht es den Kindern, sich an beide Arten zu gewöhnen.+ Die Uhr verfügt über eine ordentliche Auswahl an vorinstallierten Spiele-Apps. Vieles ist aber unnötig.+ Möglichkeit, vorgefertigte Nachrichten (sind auch wirklich sinnvoll) auszuwählen (gäb auch keine Möglichkeit Texte zu tippen, daher ist das ein pro). Eltern können indessen selbst verfasste Nachrichten senden.+ Anpassung der Uhr durch verschiedene Farboptionen und individuelle Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten.+ Magnetisches Ladegerät für einfaches Aufladen. Klappt super auch dank eines Geräusches, das ertönt, wenn es richtig geladen hat+ Akku hält mindestens 2 Tage bei regelmäßiger Nutzung, was bemerkenswert und sehr praktisch ist.+ Die Tracking-App ist größtenteils zuverlässig und genau.**Contra:**- Klobiges Design erschwert das Tragen z.B. unter einer Jacke.- Die Möglichkeit, ein eigenes Bild als Hintergrund zu verwenden, ist nur mit einer digitalen Zeitanzeige möglich.- Der Wecker kann nur von den Eltern eingestellt werden, was zwar einige Vorteile hat, aber auch als Option für die Kinder wünschenswert wäre.- Einige Apps und Funktionen erfordern einen Premiumaccount, was zusätzliche Kosten verursachen kann. (Aber da ist nichts Wichtiges dabei, also verschmerzbar)- Das Sammeln von Coins für den Spielzeugtausch erfordert Zeit und kann frustrierend sein, da sich die Ziele ändern können.- Gelegentlich kann es zu Verzögerungen bei der Identifizierung des Standorts kommen, was die Kommunikation beeinträchtigen kann.**Meine Erfahrung:**Zu den herausragenden Merkmalen gehört zweifellos der Schulmodus. Dieser funktioniert einwandfrei und stellt sicher, dass während der Schulzeit keine Ablenkung durch Anrufe, Fotografieren oder Spielen möglich ist. Das beruhigt nicht nur mich als Elternteil, sondern sollte auch dazu führen, dass die Uhr in Schulen akzeptiert wird.Die Einrichtung der Uhr und der begleitenden App war ein Kinderspiel und auch die Einstellungen waren übersichtlich und gut verständlich.Die Sprachqualität ist beeindruckend klar, vergleichbar mit einem Handy. Sowohl Anrufe als auch Sprachnachrichten kommen deutlich und verständlich an. Ich schätze besonders, dass mein Kind nur vorgefertigte Nachrichten auswählen kann, was für seine Sicherheit wichtig ist, aber ich habe die Freiheit, selbst verfasste Nachrichten zu senden.Die Möglichkeit, die Uhr farblich anzupassen und individuell zu gestalten, hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben sie in Schwarz und mit den mitgelieferten bunten Bändern konnte ich die Uhr perfekt an die Vorlieben meines Kindes angepasst und wäre danach auch noch für ein weiteres Kind benutzbar, das andere Farben mag. Auch das Zuordnen von Bildern zu den Kontakten und das Hinzufügen eines eigenen Hintergrunds war einfach umzusetzen und verleiht der Uhr eine persönliche Note.Allerdings muss ich auch mein größtes Manko ansprechen: Die Uhr ist wirklich sehr klobig. Meine Tochter hatte Schwierigkeiten, ihre Jacke über der Uhr zu tragen, was zu Unannehmlichkeiten führte. Dies könnte für einige Nutzer ein Problem darstellen und sollte bei der Kaufentscheidung berücksichtigt werden.Insgesamt bin ich mit der Xplora X6 Play Kinder-Smartwatch sehr zufrieden. Sie bietet eine Vielzahl nützlicher Funktionen und Anpassungsmöglichkeiten, die sie zu einer attraktiven Option für Eltern machen, die nach einem zuverlässigen Kommunikationsmittel für ihre Kinder suchen. Und meine Contra liste, ist sehr kurz und es sind auch eher Kleinigkeiten drauf. Ich werde sie uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Ps.: Es gibt auch noch Zubehör, wie Armbänder dazu kaufen, um sie noch individueller zu gestalten.

Bought two of these watches. For one of them, I can’t get a plan because the IMEI is not compatible with Bell. Xplora states that the only valid service provider in Canada is Bell. Odd that one IMEI is compatible and the other is not. Will need to return one of the watches.

Vorab: Wir wohnen in einer perfekt mit Netz abgedeckten Region, haben betreiberunabhängig immer super Empfang und top Internetverbindung. SIM Karte ist D1.Die Uhr ist im Leistungsumfang mangelhaft. Einstellungen kaum möglich. Die Fotos der Kamera sehen aus wie eine Wegwerfkamera von 2005. Nachrichten lassen sich nicht als Freitext verfassen, sondern nur eine handvoll fertige Texte als Baustein versenden, die nicht ansatzweise das abbilden, was ein Kind im Alltag mitteilen oder fragen möchte, wenn es unterwegs ist.Die hinterlegbare Sicherheitszone ist so riesig, dass auf einem kleinen Dorf der komplette Ort in diese Zone fällt. Gewässer oder stark befahrene Straßen lassen sich nicht aussparen, die Sicherheitszone ist immer nur ein großer Kreis.Die Uhr wird bei uns wenig genutzt, gerne auch mal tagelang im Ranzen spazieren getragen. Trotzdem ist der Akku nach 2 Tagen platt.Das Orten des Standorts funktioniert in den seltensten Fällen. Die Verbindung zur Uhr reißt ständig über mehrere Tage ab. Man kann sie dann weder aus der Ferne neu starten, den Schulmodus deaktivieren oder den Standort sehen. Auch Nachrichten über das Verlassen oder Betreten der Sicherheitszone kommen tagelang gar nicht und dann 20 Nachrichten auf einen Schlag, wann das Kind wo den Bereich verlassen hat.Der Schulmodus bricht beim Start die Telefonverbindung - sogar beim hinterlegten Notfallkontakt ab. Unsere Tochter hatte auf dem Schulweg die Situation, dass sie ihre Gruppe verpasst hat und verunsichert bei mir anrief, weil sie alleine an der Straße stand. In dem Moment startete der Schulmodus und kickte mich aus der Leitung. Da die Verbindung zur Uhr mal wieder abgerissen war, konnte ich weder den Schulmodus schnell raus machen und zurück rufen, noch konnte ich auf der Karte schauen, ob sie es über die Straße und pünktlich zur Schule geschafft hat.Ich weiß nicht, ob irgendjemand bei Xplora diese Uhr an den eigenen Kindern schonmal auf Alltagstauglichkeit getestet hat.Meiner Meinung nach hat die Firma das Glück, dass man ohnehin nur eine Uhr kauft und nach kurzer Zeit, wenn das Kind etwas älter ist, auf eine normale Smartwatch oder Handy wechselt. Somit scheint es nicht wichtig zu sein, vernünftige Updates oder Support zu geben, da man ohnehin keine Bestandskunden halten muss. Nur so kann ich mir Lösungshilfen der Sorte: "bitte sicherstellen, dass die SIM-Karte richtig eingelegt ist." erklären - das kann doch nicht euer Ernst sein?!Unterm Strich kann ich sagen: Eine derart mangelhafte Uhr bekommt man auch für einen Bruchteil des Preises aus Fernost. Mit etwas Glück geht die dann sogar besser als dieses "Marken"-produkt hier.-----------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE:Nach meiner Rezension hat sich Xplora sehr schnell bei mir gemeldet, Vorschläge gemacht und Interesse an meinen Anliegen gezeigt. Das finde ich prima und möchte ich hier auch fair mit erwähnen. Ich werde mir kommende Updates anschauen und hoffe, dass Feedback entsprechend genutzt wird um das Nutzererlebnis zu verbessern.Was ich mir wünsche:- die Sicherheitszonen sollten kleiner gemacht werden können. Aktuell ist mir die kleinste Einstellung noch zu groß - oder umgekehrt sollten sich sehr kleine "Gefahrenzonen" einrichten lassen können- Der hinterlegte Notfallkontakt sollte nicht während des Telefonats vom startenden Schulmodus aus der Leitung gekickt werden. Im schlimmsten Fall steht das Kind dann alleine in seiner Situation da- gefreezte Verbindungen durch einen nächtlichen Hintergrund Reset von GPS und Datenverbindung vorbeugen
