My old cat loves it
17 yo cat with thyroid issues, very skinny and I have to feed her about 6 times a day. This powder has not helped her gain weight after a month, but she isn't losing any more weight either. She seems very happy and definitely healthier, she has stopped vomiting every night since we add this to her wet food diet. She is also on CBD and probiotics. It's a struggle, but I'm going to keep buying this, at least it's adding calories and she seems to really love eating it. It didn't smell weird to me, smells like chicken =) It is a little clumpy, that's because of the moisture. I put a fresh moisture pack in it and shake it around every time before using, and keeps it dry enough to scoop. I do recommend it, if you have the money. It's a bit pricey, but keeping my cat alive is worth a little extra money. If you have a senior cat with thyroid problems, go all wet diet and be sure to check everything before you feed it, if it has iodine or iodate in it, and most dry foods do. Not good for them. Cat hyperthyroid can be well controlled with diet, if you are dedicated. Good luck!

Clumpy and Discolored
First of all, I was surprised when I opened the can to find it is very clumpy. Secondly, the moisture absorbing packet in it, in the very center of the photo, is dark brown and greasy looking. Something doesn't look right here, so I called Amazon and got a refund. Customer service said they will request that this be investigated. I'm not comfortable giving a product like this to my cat.The scoop is a pretty good size and one scoop a day is only provides 20 calories. What attracts cats to this is the chicken fat that is put in there. Same thing is done for Temptations cat treats and for Royal Canin Appetite Control Ages 15 Plus dry cat food.My cat lost some weight after eliminating dry food from her diet. She was eating a mix of both canned and dry. This is my vet's thought as after doing a full panel of blood work as her test values were all within the normal range. She has hyperthyroidism so at first I was wondering if maybe she needed her medication adjusted but that is not the case.So rather than using this not so good looking on the inside product, I am doing the following: 1) putting about eight pieces of Temptations cat treats in a bowl with just enough water to cover them. Then I put them in the toaster oven for about a minute. The the hot water softens them and the heat brings out the aroma more.I then cut up the softened treats into small pieces and mix them into her canned cat food. This gets extra calories in her. I'm also going to take the dry cat food I was giving them, Wellness Core Original Deboned Turkey and Chicken, crush them up and mix them into her canned cat food. This dry cat food has close to 500 calories per cup.The way I crush up dry cat food is to put pieces of it into a plastic baggie. I put the plastic baggie on a cutting board and then I take a hammer and crush the pieces up. Pretty simple. With the above approaches, I think I'll see her gaining weight back.

Princess Savannah back on her throne!
I have had my little Lilac Point Balinese for 8 years. As she is a rescue, we have no idea of her actual age. She has always been petite -less than 6 lbs. However, over the last few months she started to look scrawny and neglect her grooming although she continued to eat well and use her litter pan. the Vet did all kinds of tests and couldn't find anything wrong except perhaps some non-specific inflammation. They recommended we go further with tests for lymphoma or other cancers. I did not want to put her through invasive procedures and long hospital stays. I decided to take her home, give her as much TLC and extra nutrition as possible and let her live out her little life in peace.I started her on this product. I was lucky -she loved it. After two months she is a new cat -she has gained considerable weight. Her coat is silky, her eyes bright and she is sociable and energetic as a kitten. It has done wonders for her. I should also add that I give her, as per Vet's RX, a 1/2 dose of L-lysine powder every day to support her immune function. I am very happy to have found this product that has given Princess Savannah a new lease on life!

Picky cat may refuse to eat
Arrived in a timely fashion. Looks like what was promised. My picky cat didn't want to eat any food with even a trace of the powder on it so not to the taste of all cats.

Great
I have a very picky almost 19 year old cat. She hasn’t been doing super great had a runny nose and hasn’t been keeping weight on, overall just weak and her legs were starting to give out at times. I was starting to wonder if it was time to put her down but she just seemed like she still had life left. I had previously been using a malt flavored extra calorie gel that I had to hide in wet cat food. And even then it was not her favorite. That started to run out and I looked for a chicken flavored one (as she won’t touch seafood or malt). I came across this and the reviews were all over. Gross looking if I won’t eat it I won’t feed it to my cat. I opened it and that same thought came across my mind it’s clumpy and wet but smells like food. I figured if I was thinking about putting her down I might as well give this a try to see if it gives her strength. I just crumbled a little on top of her food and she smelled it and gobbled it right up. She has now for a week been eating one scoop a day with wet cat food. Eating and licking the bowl clean. Her bones aren’t showing anymore. She’s gained at least a 1/2 pound. And her legs have definitely started to not give out as often. She’s back to cleaning herself. All over I will recommend and don’t write hardly any reviews but this this is gold.

Works fantastic.
I used this for my feral barn cats during this winter in Iowa and it kept their weight up. We get to -26 some mornings and they are picky but this worked amazing plus they loved it. Purchasing again. (I also have insulated cat houses for them inside the barn but they were very thin last spring without this supplement.)
