The Full JourneyAll the episodes from the US sci-fi spin-off series, featuring Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the USS Enterprise.Space. The Final FrontierIn 1987, Star Trek returned to the airwaves... but it revealed a universe with previously unexplored dimensions. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) took the helm of a very different Enterprise with a crew including Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Lt. Geordi LaForge (Levar Burton), Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), Klingon Lieutenant Worf (Michael Dorn), the strangely human android Data (Brent Spinner) and empathic Counsellor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). They encountered never-before-seen threats including the seemingly omnipotent entity known as Q and the greedy, scheming Ferengi. Over the next seven years, the mission would continue to ever-farther reaches of distant space.Make IT SOIn season two of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Jean-Luc Picard welcomes some new faces aboard the Enterprise, including Dr. Crusher’s temporary replacement, Chief Medical Officer Katherine Pulaski (Diana Muldaur) and Guinan, the enigmatic bartender. The core crew evolves as they face new and unexpected challenges. Geordi LaForge is transferred from the bridge to become Chief Engineer. In a suspenseful trial, Data must prove that he is a conscious being. Riker is immersed into the warlike culture of the Klingons and in their most dangerous battle to date, the crew takes on the Borg, a cybernetic hive mind that threatens to assimilate all intelligent life.Logic is the Foundation of FunctionIn the third season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the mission goes further. Dr. Beverly Crusher returns to the ship. A cross-time encounter with another Enterprise leads to the return of deceased crewmember Tasha Yar. A humiliated Q learns what it means to be merely human. The legendary Vulcan Ambassador Sarek, Spock’s father, must cope with his long-suppressed emotions and Captain Jean-Luc Picard faces the greatest threat of his career when he takes on the Borg in a breathtaking showdown. To Explore Strange New WorldsIn the fourth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the crew of the Enterprise explores alien cultures in all-new ways. Captain Jean-Luc Picard struggles with the nightmarish horror of assimilation into the hive-mind of the Borg. The ruthless empire of the Cardassians emerges as an important nemesis for the Federation. Suspicion of Romulan sabotage aboard the ship leads to a paranoid power struggle and political manoeuvres within the Klingon Empire draw Worf into an inevitable civil war.A Klingon Never Breaks His WordIn season five of Star Trek: The Next Generation, nothing can be taken for granted in an ever-changing universe. The famous Vulcan Spock rocks the established order when he defiantly flies into Romulan territory. Bajoran Ensign Ro Laren is forced to protect the Cardassians who persecuted her people. Worf learns what it means to be a father, Data discovers the unexpected truth about a time-travelling historian and Captain Jean-Luc Picard must confront a new and unexpected dimension of his greatest enemy, the Borg.To Boldly Go... In season six of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the dangers grow even direr for the crew of the Enterprise. During a behind-the-lines mission, Captain Jean-Luc Picard falls into the hands of a seasoned Cardassian torturer. In an attempt to learn the truth about his father, Worf breaks into a Romulan prison compound. A transporter malfunction resurrects the original series’ Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott. Riker copes with a bizarre identity crisis that pits him quite literally against himself and Data’s quest to understand emotion introduces him to the concept of rage.Where No One Has Gone BeforeIn the seventh season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the series concluded – but not before airing some of its most unforgettable episodes. Data feels emotion at last, but the quest has made him easy prey for a faction of the Borg. Worf finds himself in conflict with his human foster brother and Captain Jean-Luc Picard discovers that he is trapped between his future and his past in a final trial involving the mysterious Q. For every beginning, there is an end. One chapter of the Star Trek saga was closing... but the mission of discovery would live on. Review: Great to have the complete series again - Back in the day I bought the VHS tapes as they came out. By the end of the show's run I had two 8 foot shelves filled with the things. Then along came DS9 and then Voyager... I had to stop buying them because they simply took up too much space. When DVDs came along I threw away my old VHS collection and never replaced them... until now. This collection is great. The entire box set, containing all seven seasons, fits into a shelf space 10.6cm wide - i.e. the same as 7 standard DVD cases. As to the content, it's mainly just the episodes, there isn't much in the way of extras. E.g. no commentaries that I've found so far, just the odd special or retrospective on the final disc of the season - but I'm not through all the seasons yet. Picture quality is generally acceptable, a couple of episodes have degraded blacks and have lost some definition. It's hard to believe that such an important show might have been recorded on a lossy video stock! In fact I'm surprised, because I thought ST:TNG was filmed. I guess not. Still, I'm happy - I can watch all the episodes again, and it doesn't cost me 16 feet of shelf space! Review: Outstanding Value - I bought this as a Birthday Present as my husband who is a Sci-Fi fanatic who didn't have this item in his outstanding collection as it was "too expensive to buy before," but this set was at an exceptional price compared to previous prices, so it was a win-win all round.

Star Trek TNG is a classic, but the packaging could be better.
I'm only on season two of Star Trek TNG. But it is as good as I remember from the TV. Having it on DVD is better as I can pause it if I need to get up for any reason. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. The plastic box the disks come in has them stacked on clips that they fall off of. The inner disk flaps?/pages? are also difficult to turn.

It's an excellent series and this is a perfectly fine box-set
It's an excellent series and this is a perfectly fine box-set. Mine does seem to default to a German dub whenever I play it, but this is easily rectified beforehand by changing the language setting in the disks' menus.

"Tea. Earl Grey. Hot."
Was great revisiting this series and watching it now as an adult. Fantastic performances from Patrick Stewart and the cast. Fascinating sci-fi stories loaded with intrigue and moral debates. Excellent Special Features for each individual season too. Pretty amazing all round. Peaks during seasons 2-4 and takes quite a dip in it's final year but still holds up as some of the greatest tv ever created. Don't even hesitate about watching this show if you haven't already. Make it so.

The best way to get the entire 'Star Trek
The best way to get the entire 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' is to buy this DVD box set. It's a much better re-release than the cardboard original release. People complained that with the original release the discs kept moving or falling out, plus that the discs could get scratched this way too. With this particular re-release you get a sturdy outer box and three wider than normal DVD cases inside. If you intend to get the whole collection 'Star Trek: The Original Series' , 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' , 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine', 'Star Trek: Voyager' and 'Star Trek: Enterprise', then, you can't really go wrong buying them this way. It saves a lot of storage space and they look great on the shelf. I don't think these seasons have been released better than this. Plus with 'Star Trek' celebrating it's 50th anniversary next year, it's the perfect way to get them all just before.

Less than £50 a set!
I receieved my borg cube a few days ago and I finally have all the Star Trek series boxsets currently available. THe packaging itself leaves a bit to be desired as it doesn't match up to the quality of the individual box set packaging as the cube itself is made of cardboard and rather than being painted on, the borg cube pattern seems to be some sort of paper stuck on. However, if you're anything like me you didn't buy the cube for it's packaging but for the opportunity to buy all seven seasons of the Next Generation (in much better individual packaging) for the fantastically low price that amazon are offering, it works out less than £50 a season! Although Star Trek is shown on Sky regularly nothing beats being able to watch any episode you like and impress your friends and family with the way these sets look on your bookcase. So buy it while you can and maybe follow my example of keeping the cube itself in the amazon box somewhere safe just in case it does become a real collectors item and enjoy your box sets! Happy Trekking!

i am thoroughly enjoying watching this series again. There were so many episodes I had missed. It is also nice to watch the whole series in sequence. The continuity of watching the backstories develop and characters evolve over the years is pretty cool. Now if Paramount would release well recorded copies of DS9 at a reasonable price, I would be a happy camper.

Prodotto ottimo, si vede benissimo, c'è l'opzione lingua italiana. Ottimo anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo. Lo consiglio agli appassionati e a chi vuole dotarsi dell'intera collezione.
