Give it a try! I’m glad I did!
I saw Facebook ads for this item for 2 years. I watched YouTube video after video. I never really could justify the cost until my faithful 10 year old InStyler began showing its age. After seeing many reviewers say that the newer models of the InStyler couldn’t hold a candle to mine, I decided to take the leap and buy the Tyme Iron and keep my beloved InStyler for occasional use. Here’s the deal - every type of curling tool has a learning curve to it. I’ve used the standard curling iron, my InStyler, two different curling wands, and now my Tyme Iron. Each tool took practice and my hair looked jacked up until I got the hang of it. Each tool required different motions and technique. The Tyme Iron is no different. It’s clear just by looking at it that it’s going to work differently than other curling tools, so going into this assuming it’s going to take the same technique will lead to disappointment. The technique needed to achieve curl is for the most part one-handed. That in and of itself takes some adjustment. I found that the YouTube videos put up from Tyme itself were more helpful than most of the reviews and tutorials out there from the general public. My first time using it, I struggled a bit but I was able to see curls starting to form. With another couple of videos I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong, and now I’m able to get ringlets! I was also able to figure out how to do my daughter’s hair with it. It definitely does take me less time to curl all of my hair and I get a kick out of watching each piece of hair spring into a curl once it slips out of the iron! I also found that it gives me wider curls and more body than my faithful InStyler, and it requires less twisting and turning of the wrist.Long story short, yes there’s a learning curve but all types of curling tools are different and require a different technique. Don’t let that discourage you from giving this a try.

Not worth it / not easy to use
I’m not the best at using hair tools. When I saw this the first thing that came to mind is that it’s supposed to make it easy for you but it’s not. I was excited to get this product only to disappointed. Hard to use. The hair tugs even if you don’t press too tight. I thought it was me. I have a friend that’s good with tools. So I made her try it. She was able to use and curl hair. But she’s not happy with the product as well. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. But if you like the aesthetic (which is what sold me) and you’re willing to keep trying no matter how long it is. Then maybe you’ll eventually like it. Or if you’re good with hair tools.I wish I could return it but it’s too late. I didn’t open and tried the product right away coz I was busy preparing a birthday and wedding.

Love it
My Facebook feed would not let up with the advertising of this thing, after MONTHS I finally caved and bought this here. I really like it.I have stick straight hair that won’t hold a curl unless I burn the crap out of it using the highest heat settings possible, and even then my hair will kick out a curl in about an hour or less. My hair is so straight people think I flat iron it every day but I don’t. Anyway I’ve spent thousands over the years on gadgets and appliances to try and curl my hair, I’ve tried every wacky you tube method I’ve seen, and nothing really works for me.Anyway I had low expectations for this working either. To be fair, it took about 6 hours for my hair to kick out the curl this put in, that’s like a 600% increase from other appliances I’ve used in the past but I’m ok with it, for 6 glorious hours I had long, blonde, beach-wavy georgeous hair that was movie star worthy.I don’t know if I’d call this fast though, maybe if you have really thin hair? Also there is a learning curve for pressure, I wish this had a spring in the handle to help hold it closed like a conventional curling iron. At some angles it’s really easy to not hold it tight enough.

Love it!
Yes, there’s a learning curve, yes you will have to practice, yes it’s awkward at first but being a child of the 80’s where we sat at our vanities for hours with our aqua net, teasing comb and heated hair rods, I was ok with that. The first one I purchased didn’t have an adjustable heat setting and it burned my hair so bad I had to cut it off. But, I liked the way it curled so I decided to give it another shot when they came out with the adjustable temperature feature. Works great and I use it several times a week now with no crispy ends. The only thing I would say needs changed is the power button. Yes it has an auto off feature now but you can’t turn it off with the button. I won’t leave it on when I’m done so I have to unplug it every time. No big deal but would like to have had the option to turn it off with the button.

Happy with this product.
Ok, I was skeptical. I have never been good at styling my hair, so I didn’t want to spend this much $$ only to find out I couldn’t use it. So, I bought a knockoff for less than $40. I learned how to use this style iron with a cheap version. It is definitely a learning experience. I got the hang of it and I was happy with the knockoff, but wasn’t sure it was healthy for my hair. I got a gift card for Christmas, so I decided to invest in a TYME brand name. WOW! I am blown away at the difference. It’s like going from an economy car to a Cadillac! Much better quality and curls are bouncier. I am happy with my purchase. (Note: I am noticing many comments about the iron being in used condition. Mine was definitely new. I saw these comments before I ordered, so when I saw the box below the “order now” button that said “new”, I clicked on it just in case it might guarantee I got a new one. Don’t know if that is what worked, but my iron looked brand new and was boxed perfectly). I would like it to be less expensive, but when I’ve spent extra for flat irons, it was always a better quality product and better for my hair. The same is true with TYME.
