Improve Your Business' Performance with People Analytics - The First Book You Must Read
As a practitioner of human resources with a learned interest in workforce analytics, this book is - to me - one of the seminal works in the field to date. The authors provide a broad, but practical & accessible view of the current state of the field, what "good" looks like, and how those interested in leveraging the power of evidence-validated people practices can do so.Unlike many prior books, which are "HR centric" in nature, the authors start with a very - but critical - position: What is done to leverage analytics as it relates to people in an organization must align with & help foster the organization's business strategy. This "business first" focus is critical, because much of what has been done to date in the field has not been undertaken with the same business-centric approach. This has been to the detriment of the field's sustainable results & future relevance.Providing well-conceived operating frameworks & conceptual models, examples of best practices work, and critical commentary from practitioners in the field, the authors have constructed a book that will be highly beneficial to both the curious and the committed. For the former, it provides the requisite framework in which to view the discipline of people analytics, along with practical, but vital examples of its application (with the necessary caveats to avoid common mistakes & missteps). For the latter, it will surely help the experienced practitioner to reflect and refine their approach the science of people analytics.

Enjoyable, Enlightening, Provocative: A True Must-Read for Those Interested in the Emerging Role of Analytics in the Workplace
I've known of Jonathan Ferrar for many years, and over the past 18 months have had the pleasure of sharing numerous hours with him and his colleagues. From day one I was impressed by his genuine curiosity, intellect, openness to new ideas, and creativity to bring new concepts to life. Nigel and Shari, I've come to learn, also share these qualities. I know this as I was honored to have been interviewed for the book. My perspectives and ideas, rightfully, emerge as minor contributions in a truly major accomplishment. From the 7 Forces Model of Demand, to the 8 Step Methodology, to the Operating Model, to the compelling stories of accomplished practitioners, to what lies ahead, this book is an unprecedented asset to the workforce/people/talent analytics discipline, as well as to anyone interested in understanding how measurement and analytics will affect future employee experiences and how leaders, in turn, will use talent-related data and insights to guide decision-making. It was a fun read! And, yes, my review is biased, as I shamelessly like, respect, and appreciate all the authors and what they've accomplished. A job extremely well done, indeed!

The Power of People pulls together the collective experience of the leaders in this burgeoning field into the ‘must-have’ resource for anyone with an interest in workforce analytics. Business leaders, HR leaders, HR professionals and most of all workforce analytics professionals will appreciate the authors' thoughtful approach to every aspect of this timely topic. From the fundamentals, to starting and building a workforce analytics capability, to establishing an "analytics culture", The Power of People is full of practical tips and frameworks. Not only is it an engaging read the first time around, but I know I will be using it as a reference source for years to come. Thank you, Nigel Guenole, Jonathan Ferrar, and Sheri Feinzig!

This is one of the most fantastic business analytics books I've found. They address many of the concerns I deal with in my corp
As a person working in advanced analytics for a large corporation and with no human resources domain expertise, this book cleared the knowledge path for me. Used the book to help guide me on HR concerns while I was building a model to predict attrition. I recommend it to the folks over in human resources, even they could learn a lot from this book.It should be said that even though this book is workforce analytics specific, the concepts in the book could be applied to working in many other domains (e.g. supply chain, finance, etc.)

much higher level view than what I was looking for
I bought this book with the hope that I would learn more about the techniques for gathering and analyzing workforce analytics. The book did a good job of covering the topic at a high level but not much past that.
