This company makes the best oatmeal. It never disappoints. Plus, we love that it is made in a peanut free facility as my son is allergic.

I previously was using McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal but thought I'd give Flahavan's a try. It was okay, but did not like it as much as McCann's. It didn't have the same nutty flavor that I expect out of a steel cut Irish oatmeal. I'm giving it a three rating, because it's not bad, just not as good as McCann's.

The oatmeal is in a cardboard tube, with a plastic cover over a foil cover. The foil was torn, and oatmeal spilled in a package. I was NOT about to eat food that arrived open! Most llikely it was just an accident, but how could one know it's not contaminated somehow. I'm sure not going to eat it.Flahaven's oatmeal is the best, but his portion of it is gong in the trash.

We've tried several brands, and this is the one my husband prefers. Like all steel cut oats, it takes longer to cook. I'll do severals days worth at a time. It reheats beautifully. Now cooking it in our Instant Pot. So easy, set it up and walk away. When it's done cooking, just stir and add in cinnamon, or whatever you want.Only wish it came in larger, more eco-friendly containers.
