Used this happily for a year. Kept it clean daily and liked it. Last night, I placed a hot pot lid onto an area that wasn’t heated while I stirred a rice dish. I’ve done this before - but the hot lid stuck to it and seems meshed with my induction cooktop. Totally unable to lift it off. This is crazy and I do NOT want to buy a new cooktop.

This thing lies atop the new induction cooktop. I was surprised to learn that it doesn’t burn or melt, and the pans heat exactly the same way. Protects the glass from scratching, which is important AND gives you extra work space and a place to put something fine without worrying about the glass. It vines with gold lines but those go away quickly w use. It’s a little sticky initially but still wipes clean easily. Comes with stick-ons to show where the burners and controls are underneath, a nice touch that doesn’t affect function. I also marked the centers of the underlying burners w a dot of an oil marker. A bit larger than a regulation stove top; I trimmed the edges and rounded the corners to fit easily w regular scissors.

Bought this mat for my new Induction Stovetop. Perfect to keep the top scratch free. I can set items on it and not worry. I DO NOT use it to cook on. Made of strong material. Trimmed the corners and it fits perfect.

Put it on the stove top, tried to cook. It started smoking, it burned (not sure how else to describe it) horrible smell. Had to stop cooking. Worst experience ever. Threw it away as I wasn't going to return it with white scorch marks burned onto one side. Not happy.

I used to use a much smaller one that covered part of the largest burner on my stove. It's the only one I use cast iron cookware on. Decided to look for something that was larger and came across this one. It's larger than the top of my stove, but easily trimmed to size. It hasn't burned, smoked or anything else. Just kept my stove in beautiful condition. I only have one complaint; it gets cloudy looking from the grease and it's difficult to get it all off. I tried several cleaners using spot testing to find something that would work and found that Windex seems to work the best. I use a microfiber towel to wipe it off with, otherwise you'll get lint on it. The first time I cleaned it after it got cloudy, I used a toothbrush to really scrub it with and had to apply the Windex multiple times to finally get it back to black. Now I just clean it with Windex every time I use it and it's always pretty and shiny. I had to use the black circles it came with to mark the location of the burners, but they stuck really well and look fine.

Since it was folded in an envelope, it has creased which I cannot get to level out. Very visible when put on top of range. However, it works well on our Frigidaire Induction Range. Just a little hard to clean because it cannot be wiped off without leaving lots of fuzz from your cloth. Guess it's ok for the price, but wish it had been rolled up without creases before shipping.
