I needed a smaller back plate than the one that came with the thermostat. This one fits perfectly in the available space.You can't tell that its not plastic. Frankly, I don't think it matters. And the price is very reasonable.I highly recommend this to anyone that can't use or don't like the back plate that comes with the thermostat!
