Better than Garmin
I had a garmin one before, but the velcro didn't last 6 months, plus the landyard broke. This is very clever and very sturdy too. I purchased this 2 months ago for my garmin gpsmap 67i. This is great value. Simply click and lock. I have ran with this strapped to my osprey rucksack, and it has never fell off, like the garmin ones do. This is well built and very sturdy. I would highly recommend this 👌

Hard-wearing and functional
This is a game-changer for carrying a Garmin handheld while in the outdoors. The Velcro-type system is really strong and holds in place when used on the strap of a back-pack.The attachment is similar to the type Garmin uses on its bike mounts and works very well.Highly recommended.

Better than the Garmin option
Having never heard of this company I took a risk and bought this. I was fed-up of my GPSMap 66i constantly falling off the Garmin backpack tether I had. This, on the other hand, has been brilliant. Easy to connect my Garmin to it, and my GPS has not once dropped off in the 90 miles I've hiked since getting it, despite some dodgy terrain and my clumsy footing. Brilliant bit of kit.I have two minor criticisms and one suggestion. Firstly, although it's really secure I lay my pack down and must have nudged the GPS in the right direction for it to detach. Has only happened one though. Secondly, the backplate you connect to the GPS attaches so firmly it's a pain to get off when you want it to.My suggestion..... I wear my GPS on my backpack strap, pretty much where the chest strap is. Therefore, it would be handy if the velcro pieces were split so they could straddle chest straps. One bit above, and one bit below.

Excellent
I normally have my Garmin GPS in my pocket so was sceptical about the Backpack tether. My Garmin gives a sound when navigating a rounte. In windy conditions it's not audible. When tethered to my backpack strap it's close to my ear so I can hear it much better. The tether is very well made and has a lanyard which attaches to the GPS for added security.Removal of the GPS is a cinch.

Very handy!
Love this. Use it with a Garmin eTrex20 and Garmin GPS 66S.Attach to my backpack strap, and then just twist, take it off to have a look at my gps before securing it back.Quick, simple and more practical than using the carabiner clip.Anyone who uses a hand-held GPS should definitely invest in one of these. And at under £20 it's worth the money.

Doesn't work in theory.
I wanted to like it but it just became a nuisance because everytime I bent down and just nudged my garmin it would drop off the shoulder harness. The way it attaches on the black plastic spool means that any tap and it rotates back off, thankfully the lanyard prevents your garmin striking the floor. So many times this happened to my device on my last hike that I took my garmin off and put it in my pocket. Looks good in theory but just doesn't work.

Better than Garmin
Ordered this and the official Garmin tether, but sent the Garmin one back as preferred this one. GPS seems to sit more firmly, and no velcro for the cord to snag on.
