Clean quick prints
Work well, I enjoy the double side printing option. Makes it easy to use and prints clearly. It worked so well I bought a second unit for another location. I seem to be getting plenty of page prints off of the sample toner cartridge. This won't dry out like the laser printer ink

Shame on Canon
Read the negative reviews - they're 100% true.SizeThe picture and dimensions look like this is a nice, compact footprint. It doesn't reveal that it has a paper drawer that remains open as long as you have paper in it. So, the footprint is actually the size of the paper you have in the drawer. And because the drawer is now always open, you're suseptible to dust. So I load the paper every time I want to print and keep the printer closed.LCD ScreenThe screen is on the front instead of the top. I laid the device on it's back with the edge off the end of the table for the power cord so I could look down onto the printer in order to read the LCD screen. I also opened the curtains and turned my lights on. Once setup, I laid it flat again. Still, you have to interact with this screen every time you print and for every firemware upgrade.ConnectionYes, the instructions suck and mine was actually missing the CD (empty case). I found the best luck was to connect the printer directly to my wi-fi and then locate the printer on my PC on the same network. My PC is directly hard-wired to my router, so not sure if that's why my PC found the printer so easily. I didn't want to connect the printer to my PC via USB since they're more than 6 feet apart. I don't use Apple products nor do I print from my Android.PrintingEvery single time you print something, the LCD prompts you to select a print drawer. There is only one print drawer. But, you have to scroll down and press okay on the LCD screen for the one and only print drawer before it will print. If there's a firmware upgrade available, it won't print and your job will remain in the queue until you upgrade.Firmware upgradesThis is more often than I'd prefer, about as often as your PC receives updates. I've had the printer two months and have had to update the firmware 3 times. This is done through the hard to see LCD screen by scrolling down to Upgrade, pressing OK, and then scrolling one button press at a time to read through the entire agreement (smh). 50-75 or so clicks later, you will be able to proceed.Print qualityI gotta say it prints shockingly fast - like 2 seconds. But that means the quality is going to match. Color docs don't translate well, but they are crisp and lightning fast and dry. Toner seems to be priced well, so replacements shouldn't be less than the old inkjet cartridges.NoiseSure, it's noisy, but I kind of expected that for the price. It sounds cheap.Overall"Buy" if you have lots of patience and just want to print text docs at a lower price point. Otherwise, treat yourself and upgrade. I feel like these printers have been sitting around for decades. They're only giving Canon a bad reputation.

AirPrint! Easy setup. Duplex! Make Booklet. Killer features!
Super nice printer! The parts are a bit plasticky, so be gentle during initial setup. The LCD display is hard to read because, there is no backlight, use a flashlight. Set up is easy although you may need to move certain parts in order to close the toner access door after removing all the shipping tape from the unit. I'm connecting it directly via ethernet to my router. Add the printer in Mac OS via Bonjour. Because it has AirPrint I could immediately print wirelessly from my iPhone. The duplex feature will save paper and I love the make booklet feature. This is an amazing value for the times you really need to print. It has a web interface for further control. (Access the portal via Printer Queue/Info/Show Printer Web Page)

No ink to dry up or clog.
I bought this to keep from running to the UPS store to get stuff printed, and because it is not ink jet. It is small enough and works great for the simple printing I need. I expect it to work for a long time.

My old printer pooed out…time to get a new one…
I looked at a lot of different ones. I don’t know about you, well we all have different printing needs, right? But all i needed was a black & white laser printer. My old one just decided to poo out…ok…it took awhile to find just a simple one, also reliable…and not expensive, please. This one had good reviews, which leads me to where we are now…it works great; prints fast , even double sided , which i have never had before. …(yes, i get impressed by little things like that. ) the screen is teeny tiny, but hats ok. It even puts itself to sleep when you pause to do something. Now it has just a started bit of ink right now, so i will have to order a full size cartridge- and im hoping that will not be expensive…and that i can find one thats an off brand real cheap…i will let you know how that goes. But all in all, this is a great printer, reasonably priced, performs well, and i do hope this helps you . Cheers my printing friends out there- and thats most of us , right? :)

Settings and menus UI is a real pain in the neck to use.
Works okay, but what a pain int he neck to set up and maintain! Complex interface that is very difficult to navigate through, much less see, on that tiny screen, what you're doing. And if you print from more than on network in your home, you have to suffer through most of the setup operations again. I won't talk in detail about how frequently it disconnects and has to be "rebooted". Tired of having to pull out a flashlight and a magnifying glass every time it coughs.
