Leo Messi (Little People, BIG DREAMS, 108)

Messi is well known to most soccer fans. I was thrilled to learn more about him. I didn't realize that he started playing professionally at such a young age or that he had to be put on growth hormones. Love to hear that he still loves to play and uses his stardom for good in philanthropic ways.I love this book series and get excited to learn more about different people. Highly recommend.

The book physically measures “near” 8” wide, “near” 10” tall, and just “under” ½” thick. It’s a handsome book, with wonderfully thick pages, a thick cardboard type of hard cover, and a beautifully textured cloth like spine that reaches into the hard cover. The wording is clear and dark on the pages, even when a colored background. The size of the type and look of the fonts are perfect. It’s a very high quality book.Why was this published?It’s about the stories of others. This is a book that makes up a brilliant series of books about the stories of others, starting from their youth, the series touches on athletes, activists, artists, designers, environmentalists, royalty, scientists, and others, who seek out many pursuits, such as social justice, social change, diversity, advancing the environment, and such. Another great book in the Little People, Big Dreams collection.A Leo Messi edition. Right now, Leo Messi is all the rage in soccer, so I think that this book makes a great gift or is just a nice home edition that I personally keep mine as.Beautiful buttery soft pages, matte finish hardcover, the black edging is canvased textured and just overall a beautiful look. The illustrations are fun for children. Vibrant, simplistic design. The informational content is accurate and stated well enough to keep children entertained and interested throughout the book.It's fun, educational, and just a beautiful book overall. Price is absolutely justifiable.

This inspiring biography series for children (4-7 years) brings exciting figure of Leo Messi, one of the best soccer players, if not the best.Leo comes from Argentina, where from childhood he loved playing soccer. He was so good that he got on a team with older boys. With Leo on the team, they won every single tournament.At thirteen, he got invited to Spain to try out for Barcelona’s youth academy. He was accepted within minutes of his playing. At sixteen, he joined the first team and with time became the greatest player in soccer’s history.When Leo started playing soccer, he was always the smallest among the players. At first, it was because he was the youngest. Later, it turned out to be his medical condition for which he got help with injections. This obstacle didn’t stop him from becoming one of the greatest soccer players.There were times, when his team lost, and in those moments he drew inspiration from happy children, including his family and all the children he helped through his charity.With easy to comprehend sentences, and fun illustrations, this book is a cheerful inspiration for children.

Messi is all the rage! Everyone loves that guy and so this is the perfect book for kids to learn a little more about their favorite athlete. Messi is such an approachable athlete since he is of small stature and comes across as an every man kind of guy. This book was adorable and colorful and told a great story of Messi’s humble beginnings to become the world’s best soccer player!

This is a fantastic children's book! I love that it is a true story featuring a child who overcomes an obstacle and finds success. My son was especially interested in the sports aspect! The writing is simple enough for my five-year-old to understand, yet engaging and interesting for both of us. The illustrations are colorful and fill the pages. At the end of the children's story, there is a short bio written at an adult reading level, providing additional information. I was pleased with this since I was curious to know more about Leo Messi, and my son had questions that it allowed me to answer. My son and I are both interested in exploring more books in this series!
