Refill the whole thing
Pretty clever design, the expansion of the freezing water in the lower chamber pushes the ice ball up and out. Be sure to empty it entirely and refill for the next ice ball so you get that expansion, otherwise it can be hard to remove the ball

Amazing clear cube, but you have to remember to take it out at the right timing (a pain).
This product would get a 5, but I absolutely hate that I need to set a timer to remember to pull it out after 12-36 hrs (can’t recall exactly when). Otherwise it over-freezes and can possibly break the vacuum seal (I believe). It hasn’t happened yet, but appears to be a risk & they do state to take it out at that time.

Not crystal clear as advertised
I can get a perfectly round ice ball, but definitely not clear. Have made a dozen in two different freezers, different locations in the freezers, and pictures are the best I can get. Reached out to seller over a week ago and no response. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong because most reviews say it’s brutal remove. Might takes no effort. Back it goes!
