Piece of garbage.
I bought this less than a month ago and the battery life has dropped to about an hour. Even in powered down mode, it drains overnight, making it a total waste of money. I'd return it, but I paid $85 for installation and don't want to pay that again. Instead, I'll keep it plugged in until I can buy a new laptop, which is only a few months away.Edited 3/31/25. I've had thus battery for 3 months and it now won't only not hold a charge, but won't take a charge at all. I'm completely disgusted. The vendor refunded the purchase price, but I'm now going to have to buy another battery AND spend another $80 for installation.Don't waste your money.

It works! Easy to install, BUT had to return
UPDATE: Unfortunately, after a couple of days, the charge would never go beyond 6% (in fact it went down to 0). I went through ALL of the troubleshooting, including doing a force-flash BIOS update. I think the battery itself is fine, but the Dell just won't accept battery AND charger simultaneously. And since it will at least work with charger alone, it's pointless keeping the battery. Dell needs to work on this problem, the laptop's barely 2 years old.- - - -For the first time in nearly a year, my Dell Inspiron 7706 2-n1 works without being plugged in, and when it is plugged in, it charges! I first had to replace the charging port because it had become loose over the 18 months I had it. After that, the battery wouldn't charge and I got a message that said the battery was nearing its end of life. Then the other day it just died completely.Took a gamble on this battery and it was super easy to install and worked immediately without any problems or BIOS updates required.

Idk
Im not a tech person by any means , idk what is wrong with my lap top but I tried changing the battery and it didn't work. Figured it was because of a bad battery because it wouldn't charge so I also changed the charging outlet and didn't work. So I couldn't tell you if it was because I don't know what Im doing or if it's because of the battery for all I know I made it not work even more.

Simple solution to extend the life of the laptop another year (or 2)
We replace our laptops roughly every 4 years but the original batteries start to show their age around 3 years and the laptops more or less can't live without their chargers being close by to provide juice after 15 minutes. We basically need to extend the life of the laptop for another year and these batteries fill that gap perfectly at a low cost.We have replaced a number of batteries and all of the users receiving their laptop back with this new battery reported that they can use the laptop without a charger for at least an hour or 2.

Not a long lasting replacement
IT was easy to replace and worked great for about 6 months but I have had it less than a year and it won't hold a charge longer than 5 minutes anymore
