I bought this coffee as a thank you gift for a Colombian friend (read-he KNOWS coffee) of mine for all of his help. I chose this one based on all the great reviews. After receiving the coffee 3-pack, I packaged up 2 of them and headed over to his place. He was very shocked that I had actually got him something, but was also shocked that I had managed to find Juan Valdez coffee. He told me that he normally "drinks good coffee" only when he visits family in Colombia and was really looking forward to trying this. The next morning I got up and decided to brew me a pot in my french press. I used 3 tablespoons because I have a travel mug. Upon opening the package, I could smell the richness of the coffee. It is definitely a medium roast and not burnt to a crisp like a well-known international coffee chain. The coffee has a finer ground than standard (non-generic) coffee bought at the supermarket. I assume that helps the coffee to infuse better. The bad part of being fine ground is that some of it passess through the sieve on the french press. I don't really mind because most of the grounds that escaped sat on the bottom of my cup or I drank and didn't even notice. There wasn't any gritty feel in my mouth. If I used a drip machine, then I'm sure the paper filters would catch everything. The price is very good compared to what one would spend at a chain or local coffee shop. I've made 6 travel mugs (equivelant to a large) and 6-8 normal coffee cups and the bag is a little less than half full. So I've already got my money out of it. Now, I purposely saved the best part for last - the taste! This is some REALLY good coffee: no bitterness, no burnt taste, and no bad taste in the mouth afterwards. I'm sure the other highly rated coffees are good, but I'm sticking with this one!ps-My colombian friend and his wife also loved this coffee after they tried it.

After traveling to Bogota Colombia, I was exposed to the Juan Valdez coffee company chain. Upon my return, I purchased the coffee at the airport. Once back in the states, I tried to locate it and it was not available at the time, but plans were in the works to do so. Finally, several months later, I found the "organic" and the other one which is not labeled organic. (the red bag) on Amazon. I purchased both (for the packaging is not the same as in Colombia) trying to duplicate the delicious coffee I enjoyed in Bogota and "Voila", the ORGANIC is IT...you won't be disappointed! This coffee is excellent, smooth, creamy, a natural chocolate-life flavor, no bitter taste. It is the finest coffee I have found, ever. When Wal-Mart stopped carrying it a couple of months ago, I was heart-broken. Nothing I have tried since comes close. After tossing several packages of "Organic Columbian" I was so pleased to find it on Amazon. You will not be disappointed if you like a smooth, medium-roasted coffee.

This is what coffee should taste like...it's smooth, bold yet balanced. One problem though, once you try great coffee like this dunkin donuts coffee will taste like flavored water. I normally drink my coffee with cream, but this coffee is made to be drank totally black. Don't let cream or milk take away what this unique coffee has to offer. There is nothing like great coffee in the morning and this one delivers. People come over now and expect me to brew this treasure all the time, I'm always willing, it's an excuse to have a GREAT cup of Joe!!!

Excellent coffee at a fair price. Shipping is prompt and reliable. Works very well in my machine. I use a gold filter, rather than paper, so I can enjoy the coffee flavor exactly as it is meant to be. Great stuff!

This is the best coffee period. First tried it as a gift from Colombia and now order it online because it is so good. This makes other coffee seem average.
