Irwin Marples MS500 Soft Touch Bevel Edge Chisel 3 Piece Set

I got them as a diyer, to hang some doors and tidy up door frames. These are not professional chipper chisels, they're cheap, cheerful diy chisels. They're sharp enough to use straight away and mine are starting to feel slightly blunt after 9 doors/door frames, still able to do the job perfectly fine as they are, just a touch more force needed. Edges are still nice and straight, strike cap is useful for counter-sinking hinges etc. They come in a nice protective wallet case which does the job nicely, with room to stash a screwfix pencil inside (because you can never find one when you need one, despite owning 1000's of them) Just need to learn how to sharpen them properly and they'll last me years.

Comfortable grips on the handles.

Although they are made in China these chisels have a good quality feel to them. Hopefully this will translate into using them too. The case for them is very sturdy and fits them snugly. What is noticeable about the chisels is their substantial weight, along with handles that appear round but are more like a slightly flattened round instead. They are comfortable to hold though. Personally I feel these are suited to general purpose construction type work best, as they are really too big, heavy, and bulky for furniture type work. Whilst they arrived sharpened they needed honing despite claims by the manufacturer that they come ready honed. On the whole I'm happy with them.

Delivered on time, used these chisels to fit new locks & striker plates to a couple of doors. Comfortable to use by hand or with a mallet, sharp, angled edge made creating striker plate countersinks & pockets a breeze.

Little hard re sharpening but reasonable for price

These chisels are put together well and although the rubber handles took a while to get used to they are comfortable and tactile. The metal striking head is a good idea and hopefully will prolong the life of the chisels. Time will tell on the blades but carrying the marples brand should mean theyre pretty good. Always nice to have a wallet to keep the set tidy and in one place! For the price they seem good value.

Me parecen muy buenos se afilan bastante bien y tienen un corte bastante duradero. Tiene buenos materiales tanto acero como mango y por supuesto el estuche. E probado anterior mente urko y Stanley y me parecen más completos calidad precio
