A Moment of Classic Cinema - A Hollywood Art Film
Leave it to the geniuses at Eureka to restore and release this most important movie. This is the picture that made Sam Fuller bail out od La La Land and emigrate to Europe. The resurrected image and soundtrack are pristine. The dealer of thismBlu-ray is to be commended. Obviously a lover of cinema. Very important to the hjome viewer these days. Delivery was fast, almost early, I think. Product was exactly as described.

Fullers late masterpiece
Killed by Paramount pictures who grasped the wrong end of the stick thought the film was racist and didn't know that they were dealing with the genius of Sam Fuller. The film is brilliant in its subject matter and handles it in an even handed way.Fuller always treated any subject matter with his own powerful emotions and this is no exception.Add to that a score by fellow genius Ennio Morricone and you get a film which is finally getting the audience it deserved back in 1982

A film which ages pretty well....
Another one of the Masters of Cinema serie, with a DVD and Blueray disk. The quality of both is identical.....no bonus material, except a 40 page booklet. Fuller is one of my favorite directors, with the ability to get across his message in the limits of his often limited budgets. French author Romain Gary 's book was used as the basis of the story, although the film takes the idea of training dogs to attack people of a certain color in a different direction at the end. Apparently, the subject of racism wasn't the cup of tea for 1970's America, and this film ended up in the drawer.....too bad.....sometimes we should look in the mirror, and see if WE have a bit of White Dog in us, too. Then, if we see it, let's correct it and try to make the world a Better place.

Bad Dog
A thousand other directors could have attempted this and the result would have been a travesty. Not so Mr Fuller, who creates a compelling, fascinating film. It plays very like a horror film, it was probably the last great film Fuller made.

Powerful, thought provoking and moving.
This is a film I first saw back in the 80's as a teenager. It had a huge effect on me and stuck with me. I often thought about the film but it's been unavailable for many years. I watched it recently on a streaming service and was bowled over by it again. I had to own it. The direction, the acting and the score (by Ennio Morricone) are all first rate. It's a great performance by the late, great Paul Winfield and the film uses melodrama to keep the focus on the themes of racism, indoctrination and the damage caused by hatred. Powerful stuff that may not be for everyone.

Excellent Movie!
This excellent movie in my opinion has been overlooked.A young actress hits a dog with her car. She takes the dog under her wing and nurses him back to good health. The dog becomes very close to her protecting her from a guy who breaks into her house. But she learns that the dog is not the perfect dog. In fact the dog has been trained to attack and kill black people. The film sends out a very strong and clear message. The negative part is the dvd copy. The picture quality looks like it's been transformed straight from VHS.Apart from that - good movie!
