Not wide fitting and insole is hard as a brick
I have just started suffering from plantar fasciitis in one of my heels and it is very painful to walk around the house in slippers as there is no support in them. I thought these might do for wearing round the house instead. Firstly when I took them out the box I noticed how narrow they are - definately not a wide fit. That wasn't necessarily an issue as I don't have wide feet, I just couldn't find anything like this in a regular fit. However, it is the sole that makes them unwearable. The insole is not padded in any way - it is more of a light quilted effect and feels all lumpy and loose, but as soon as you put your foot in it, it is like walking on concrete. My heel felt even worse, so they'll be going straight back.

NOT WIDE ENOUGH
I got these shoes for my husband who has one slightly swollen foot, hence choosing wider fitting. I also got a size 10 when he is actually a 9 to 9 and a half just to make sure they would be big enough. Well, they are actually a narrow fitting, so what's the point in leading people to think they are wide. However the quality is very good, they are reasonably priced and were delivered promptly. He has got them on in the house and am hoping the canvas will stretch a bit with wear. One other point. The straps to fit the velcro are quite short so with really wide or swollen feet would not actually reach across. If they had been wider fitting would have given five stars.

Kevin shoe
I hate this hook & loop type of shoe and vowed never to use them. Unfortunately I struggle to tie laces now so forced myself to buy these but just for use in the garden (too proud to be seen wearing them, smacks of being old, which of course I am).Have hardly taken them off since buying them, so easy to put on and fasten and to take off,I also wear them as slippers because my physical condition makes even expensive slippersunwearable very quickly. They're TERRIFIC.

Just shockingly awful
Firstly, they are not canvas shoes. They are canvas effect but in fact made of foam. The kind of cheap rubbish used for making foam feet covers as part of a bad cosplay costume. Or maybe packaging. I would not be caught dead wearing these. People might think I'd broken both my feet and had put these on to cover the cast. Or worse. I swear the other reviews must be reviewing a different product. Otherwise oh dear. Oh very dear. I wouldn't even be so cruel to give these away. Definitely a return.

Not the shoes I ordered.
Beware, I ordered these again as they are so comfortable. The second pair I received today is by CHARLES SOUTHWELL, much smaller and not wide. I see they are for sale on another sellers page at £14.99 ???. Not good Amazon !. I am certainly sending them back.

Pot luck whether you get good ones.
I had some of these a couple of years ago and they were wide and comfortable, but now wearing out. This time they were tight and awful. If they send you ones branded "Shoe Tree" then you get good ones, but sometimes they send ones branded Charles Southwell which are much smaller in the same size. They ripped as I was trying to get them on, as they're much too tight across the top of the foot.

These shoes are great
Very very pleased with this - my child is width H, so not easy to find nice fitting summer shoes which would not be tight. These wider fitting shoes fit just right, plus the size and colour are as described too. The price is great and they are quite light too! So very pleased indeed.

An excellent alternative to slippers
As a septuargenarian, I use these as slippers and have worn them under different brand names for many years. With a Velcro fastening, they fit quite snugly and don't slip off, as slippers are likely to do with some age, particularly for the older folk and with stairs in mind.
