I've had this phone holder for about 2 years, and at this point I felt the need to write a review. In my experience, this is the most effective vent-mount phone holder than you can get for any Miata with "eyeball" vents (NA/NB). The hook on the holder latches on to the inner ring of the vent and keeps it secure. I recommend also doing the tape mod to make sure the vent won't move around much. I'll provide a photo of that, but essentially you just put some duct/gaffer tape on the eyeball to add friction. You can also use a bandaid, but I think heavy duty tape does a better job. In terms of build quality, it isn't perfect, but it has lasted me this long so theres that. There are many moving parts, all of which are made of plastic, which causes some play in the mechanism. I think it is fine for the money. A lot of Miata folks don't go the vent phone holder route because the eyeball vents are awkward in their range of motion, and because they're small. As someone who does not like tombstone-mounted holders (too far to the right) or suction-mount, (obscures vision) I am happy to have this.

Satisfied! This is a really good one but I give 4 staars because it doesn't hold the phone when I turn it 90 degree. I think this type (air vent hold) is the best option. Especially fornthe small car.

I bought this when it was on sale a couple years ago. My wife needed an easy in-and-out phone holder in her car. This one was the right price and had great reviews. 2 years later, she is still using it and loving it. She liked it so much, I bought one for my new car. It attaches to the air vent in a matter of seconds and is real easy to get your phone in and out of. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get their phone off the dashboard and mount them to the air vents.

Easy to assemble, hooked into the vent solid and allowed the vent to function laterally. The mount itself is cool how it grabs the phone, it is highly adjustable but it’s too flimsy and vibrates and shakes with the road. For the price….not bad, I’m gonna run it for a while and see if I can live with the shake.

I was afraid I wasn't going to like it because my car has a fairly small windshield. But having it on the vent helps so much & the fact that it moves around so your phone won't be directly on the fan is great so my phone doesn't over heat & causes damage. It's very sturdy. I had to play with it for a bit so it can clamp on good but once it's on, it's on good. The adjustable placement into the fan opens up pretty big so you can adjust it to however your car vent is.

So far I really like this phone holder. I can move the phone around to a spot that I can see easily. It stays in place once I tighten it. My last phone mount did wireless charging and covered the whole back of the phone, so it kept overheating on even short drives. This keeps the phone cool. It is easy to put the phone in and take it out. I have a Google pixel 8 with a thin case, and it fits perfectly. I mostly bought this for hot weather, but I might just keep it because it's easier. The charging phone mount had to be plugged in with the car turned on to remove the phone, and I can use this when the car is off. I can just plug my phone in because this doesn't block the charging port.
