Very helpful for ankle swelling and comfortable to use
I read reviews before I purchased this item. Some say you have to leave out 48 hours before you can use. I did not have that issue, it plumped up right after opening. Although I did not use it right away. Once I did, I am in love. I have swelling in my ankles due to a heart condition and also I could absolutely get my weight down and I may not have this problem all the time. It does not get my feet above my heart but it sure does help because it is pretty high on top of my ottoman. I sit and watch TV or read on laptop and it feels so good to have my feet on this. The thing is super comfortable on my legs and feet. It is soft but also strong enough not to make leg marks. It has two parts a thinner one and a thick one and I have them stacked up together and that gives a lot of lift. I am really glad I decided to buy it. On my ottoman I can pull it right up to my chair and then pull the wedges right up to behind my knees almost and that is the best position for me as that is the most comfortable for me. But everyone will have their own way of using it. If you are on the fence you should definitely give it a try. I almost forgot to mention it has handles on the front so you can pull it close and that makes it so much better than fighting with it to get the position you want. I am glad they thought that out.

Comfortable and good quality
The adjustable leg pillows work great. I am able to rest comfortably after surgery. I would recommend these for anyone with broken ankles/legs or swelling. Great for lower back pain, sciatica or any surgeries involving lower back.

Love it! It's a good buy.
I like this cushion. I think it's worth every penny. I can easily elevate my legs above my heart level at night when I go to sleep, or during the day when I take a short nap. The leg elevation of 6 inches with this cushion works great to reduce the swelling in both my legs. I still haven't tried the extra cushion, shown at the foot of my bed, which allows 8 inches of elevation. I like the neutral gray color. The foam is a perfect combination of firmness and softness. The cushion is wide enough for big folks like me. The workmanship is fine. There is a slight smell for the first few days, but it goes away. I don't have a partner to massage my legs while they're elevated on this cushion to help drain fluid buildup, so I've learned a trick or two to do it on my own. Ankle pumps work. Or, I use one leg to massage the other. Think of a foot fight, or two feet playing games with each other, or a heel of a foot on one leg massaging the foot and lower portion of the other leg. I just create any kind of movement and pressure on the lower legs while they're elevated on this wonderful cushion to help drain the fluid buildup down towards the trunk of my body. It gives me the urge to urinate after about an hour or so, but I hear this is normal for lymphedema drainage. The very expensive contraption in the corner of my bedroom is an automated, pneumatic compression sleeve for both legs (paid for by insurance). It gives both legs an automated massage over a 45 minute period to help drain fluid. This cushion that I got from Amazon works about as well as the machine, but costs much less. I actually don't use the machine that much because it's so hard to put on and take off the sleeves with the severe osteoarthritis that I currently have. October 9, 2025 update: I still use the cushion every night, and sometimes once or twice during the day, to keep my lower leg swelling under control. The cushion has held up well. One important thing I learned is that my heels have to be above my knees for proper gravity drainage of fluid from the ankle area of my feet. Even at max elevation of 8 inches with this cushion, my heels do not elevate above my knees, so fluid buildup in my ankle area does not do away. The symptom that I get to alert me that heel drainage is not working is mild pain in my heels after a few hours. As a matter of fact, going back to when I first started to develop lymphedema, before I was elevating my legs at night, that was the first mysterious symptom I got, pain in my heels. So, my lesson learned is, not only must I elevate my legs above my heart level, I must also make sure my heels are elevated above my knees for complete drainage of the lower legs. It's hard to do with this cushion because of the flat surface at the top. A uniform slant all the way to the top might be a better design. I developed a workaround with this cushion. I raise the flat surface up higher by putting one or two cushions underneath to increase the elevation from 8 inches to 12 or even 14 inches. Sometimes, I even put a black styrofoam cylinder underneath to create my own artificial slant to the overall leg lift cushion. Imagination is key here. Kludge it up so it works to get the heels above the knees. The brown bedspread photos of the kludged up cushion are new.

Simplest Things Can Make a Difference
Like everyone else, I had to research a wedge for lower spine relief. I have severe sciatic nerve compression and surgery is not an option due to heart weakness. I already have a wedge for severe acid reflux and sleep apnea but now needed one for the legs for nerve pain reduction. This particular leg wedge continued to stand out to me while researching. The fact that it has extra handles to grab and pull closer to your body makes a huge difference. Yes, the simplest thing like extra handles makes a difference in the world and yet no matter reading all the other available wedges that can provide additional features as well, this one just kept my attention, so I bought it. One additional neat feature not shown in the advertised pictures is that I can now lay on my right side in bed with left leg on wedge (see pic provided). It takes the pressure off of the sciatic nerve. I no longer need pillows between my legs. Very comfortable so far. Just one idea to throw out there. During my sleep is when i change position to lay on my back. Thats when the handles come into to play. Just grab and adjust real quick and place legs on the wedge and go back to sleep. I love gradual slope and so far no issues with legs and noticed reduction in lower back pressure and stiffness. The only con i see about this leg wedge is that the Velcro on both sides are cheaply made and are not very strong to keep the wedge and additional platform lined up. Overall, I love my purchase and will have to update as time passes, but for now, I highly recommend, especially for those who prefer side sleeping. Just an added plus to the different ways to use this. Updates forthcoming. If you are on the fence, give it a try especially for the price. Amazon has a great return policy so that puts the customer at a peace of mind.

Hurts my knees
I bought this for my wife following a knee / leg injury to let her elevate her legs while she heals. Her leg was improving and then she slept with this pillow under her legs. The first morning after using it, her leg was worse. The morning after the second night with it, her leg was really painful and she could barely walk. She stopped using it. I sleep with a wedge pillow under my back, shoulders, and head to help with reflux symptoms at night. But often by the middle of the night, I have slid down and wake up laying flat. So, I tried using this leg elevation pillow under my legs in the hopes that I wouldn't slide down overnight. That worked. It kept me from sliding down, but I woke up in the morning with my knees really aching. Unlike my wife, who started with a leg injury before using this leg elevation pillow, I do not have a leg injury. My knees just started aching after sleeping with this leg elevation pillow under my legs for 1 night. I won't be using it again. I cannot be certain that the shape of this leg elevation pillow is the cause of the knee soreness, or something else. It was very comfortable to use. I don't know why my knees and her knees ached so much after a night using this leg elevation pillow. As for the pillow itself, it is sturdy and has a nice cover. The front handles aren't really placed such that they're easy to use when laying down with my legs on the pillow. When I'm laying in the bed, I cannot reach the handles to pull the pillow closer. I just grabbed the bottom of the wedge to pull it toward me. This leg elevation pillow has 2 pieces, the top one that's 6" thick and a bottom one that's 2" thick. The velcro tabs that hold the two together keeps them together, but they tend to twist in the night. In the morning the bottom piece was twisted to my right and the top piece was twisted to the left. On a higher note, my cat loves it!! But she still preferred her box for overnight sleeping.

Good pillow, bad cover
I've been using this for a month now and I've really enjoyed it. Its very comfortable and works very well, for the most part. There is ONE issue i have with it, but its a really inconvenient issue. The fabric the cover is made of is a bad choice for something with velcro. If the velcro gets caught on it once, not only does it tear out the threads of the cover, but it makes there be a lot of excess junk in the velcro and can even bend the hooks out of shape. And once it starts being bent or having stuff get caught in it, it will make it stay on the velcro less. Which will make it get more damaged. And its a cycle until the bottom cover has many holes and significant cover damage and the velcro doesn't work at all. Even if they had just reinforced the areas around the velcro with a different fabric, or just used different fabric for the bottom cover, this could be totally avoided. That being said, i still think its worth it at this price point. I suggest trying to do something to keep this issue from happening yourself if you can, even just hot gluing some tough fabric around it. But its not the absolute worst thing in the world if you cant. Just annoying
