Cheap but works!
I just purchased a 2011 Tahoe and this makes it so much better to drive on hilly 55mph roads. No more lugging around in 4 cylinder mode and rough changes to 8 cylinder. The blue LEDs are a bit much but they turn off when the truck is off so there is less of a worry about battery draw. I was weary of the price considering the name brands are going for $150+ but it works great.

Works well. OBDDFM Active Fuel Management AFM/DFM Disable Device, Compatible with GM V8 V6 Engine
Works well. Seller/Shipper was efficient. Simple install. I had been experiencing what felt like a "slip then clunk." Since installing the OBDDFM, the “slip then clunk” is no longer present, I can assume the “slip then clunk” was from the engine running on 3 cylinders at a stop, then when accelerating it would fire up all 6 cylinders. The gas difference from running all 6 cylinders seems to be about 2 mpg difference (negligible). However, since the car accelerates like a beast (super fast) now with all 6 cylinders firing, I have been putting my foot into it... haha ... Enjoy...

This was a great purchase!!
My truck has Texas speed long tubes, Y-pipe 3” pipe into a large MBRP muffler and 3” out behind the tire. The tone change and rev hang was terrible when the AFM activated. It’s gone now and runs and sounds so much better!! Worth the $50. No need to spend $700 on a cam lifters and pushrods if you don’t want to. It also saves the AFM lifter from getting stuck and taking out the cam.

Works Great!
Update:I had previously left a bad review as this appeared to no longer be working. It turns out that the fuse for our cigarette lighter had blown which caused the obd scanner to no longer be responsive. Changed the fuse and all is right in the world again. Buy this thing if you have the AFM thing going on. Works wonders on our old Tahoe! This thing was working great for a solid month! Solved our issue with the vibration due to AFM. Then it just quit. No lights, no nothing. It's dead dead. Return window closed 9 days ago. Trying to contact seller isn't easy. Do not recommend this product.

does what it says
bought this for my 2011 avalanche with the 5.3l… already had 170k on it when i bought it… luckily no lifter noise already… got this to eliminate that bullcrap cylinder cutoff and it did just that… there’s not really been a change in gas mileage but overall the performance is better… no more lag waiting on the computer to decide what cylinders it wants to use so the power is there when i need it… easy install, just plug it into your existing OBD 2 port and go…

So far so good, does what it says - Update - Dead Battery
Wasn't having any issues with my 2011 Suburban (5.3L). Wanted to get this before had issues.Suburban shows if you are V4 or V8 on the Instant Mileage display. Watched it for two days and has been V8 the entire time. So it's doing what I bought it to do....BUTBox doesn't tell you what the lights the meaning of the lights. Wish they were not there, kinda bright at night. I plan to cover it with electrical tape. Also box says "Do not leave your device installed on a vehicle that is not driven daily. Unlug device if the vehicle will not be driven for a few days. As there may be a draw on the battery in some vehicles.". So once I cover the light with tape I'm sure I'm going to forget it plugged it and come out to a dead battery.Update - went out this morning (Monday) and battery was dead. Two year old Interstate battery. My drive to work is 40 miles each way so plenty of battery charging time. Parked it Friday and this morning battery dead.

Perfect
It works great. I have a 15 Silverado and put loader exhaust on and didn't think about my truck going to 4 cylinders and make the exhaust quite. Exhaust guy had one of these in a different brand for $300. A friend told me about this one and he's a mechanic and uses these all the time for his customers. I bought one for $53 and it works great. My truck stays on all 8 all the time.

Satisfied overall
It's not a huge difference that I notice, but am going to add a throttle response chip, so am thinking together they will work well. But I do notice the acceleration and the lag is not there anymore, so it does accomplish what is expected. Don't notice better gas mileage, it's a 2010 silverado 5.3 L v8 which is not known to be fuel efficient, so if that's what your looking for, try something else. But Def no m9re lag with acceleration.
