Been looking for a lighting kit for some time. Kit price attracted me and placed order on Sunday, goods delivered Wednesday. Only criticism relates to the packaging. Although, nothing was damaged, the stands and unbrellas were suitably boxed, the lights whilst packaged in a polystyrene moulded carrier within card box were simply sellotaped in a black plastic wrapper to the substantial cardboard box that contained stands and umbrellas.On opening everything worked ok and imressed with the quality. Looking at You Tube video on PhotSEL softbox lighting kit the stands appear to be the same and the lights come in the same type of polystyrene moulded carrier for safe keeping between usage and transporting. Really good value.

This is possibly my best purchase in years. I'm an art student who uploads work to Instagram, and have been playing around with photography as a result. For ages, I've been trying to figure out how to make my shots look better, trying to improve lighting in other ways, using different backdrops etc. Finally, I saw this set with glowing reviews, and thought that at this price it was worth the risk.I'm glad I did. This set is phenomenal, and has completely changed the quality of my images. Everything is sharper, and looks so professional. The quality of the set-up itself is brilliant; stand is extremely sturdy, the umbrella is fantastic and the halogen bulbs provide the most incredible neutral light. Excellently made.Absolutely recommended if you're looking for great lighting on a budget!

I needed some extra lighting but couldn't afford to splash out a lot; after looking around quite a bit I came across these set of lights which had an outstanding amount of positivity from other reviewers, so decided to go for them.The lights took barely 5 minutes to fully set-up as it was pretty obvious where everything goes, and the stands seem to sturdy enough.There is one problem I ran into, and that was it's power cables are a little short, especially when the stand is extended to its fullest, however an extension cable sorts that problem out in a jiffy.I do have another set of photography lights which I still use a lot, however are more suited for use on my tabletop, whereas these are fantastic for when I want to film elsewhere as I can get them a lot higher, but these do require quite a bit of space, especially when the umbrellas are properly in use.Recently I've been using these a lot and have been getting great results, so am really pleased.For the price, you just can't argue which is why I'm highly recommending these.

This is an excellent set for home / small personal studio use (and probably budget-strapped professionals too). All components seem sturdy enough to last a very long time as long as they are not abused. The packaging is not very travel-friendly so if you need to take the set with you to various locations then you'll probably have to show some patience. The quality of the light is very good, both for taking shots of single subjects as well as small groups. Needless to say, it is really important to know how to position the lights and how to set up the camera, as missing those can't be compensated by the most expensive studio equipment. It would have been great if the set came with a bag though, but probably the price would have gone higher. On the other hand, this way I get to independently choose a bag that meets my requirements so it's not a negative after all. I am really happy with the purchase and I recommend this set.

One of the included lamps was broken (cover was cracked and detached from the lamp).I decided to try and see how the light was, using the second lamp. After 30 seconds I heard a series of pops and saw smoke coming out of the lamp. I disassembled the lamp to have a look at it and post a picture.Now I am out, I need to buy some replacement fuses for my socket.Stay away from this.

I use these for product photography and product videos. They cast a bright clean light which gives accurate colour representation and help reduce shadows and excess highlights.They were very well packaged when delivered, with the bulbs in thick polystyrene casings, so there was no risk of damage in transit.Setting up is very easy, and takes about 10 minutes to get both lights set-up and powered on. The power leads from the bulbs is quite short, so you may want to consider having your own extension leads on-hand if you are doing studio work and need to move the lights around a lot.They fold down just as quickly and reduce to a very portable size for storage and transit. The tripods / umbrellas are a little flimsy and wont last for ever - but with due care, they should last so a good while - and for the price, they are a great deal.I would recommend these for the home enthusiast doing product photography or other studio work on a budget. You won't get true professional results, but if you were after that, you would be paying £000's for professional equipment.

I bought these lights a couple of years ago and the have traveled with me to south America and back. They work very well and I am very happy with the purchase. They fold up into a super small space and work well when set up. Although the are quite cheaply made, they are well constructed in the important places like the electronics, mine show little sign of their age so depending on how you plan to use them they should last a long time.I keep mine set up most of the time in a home studio setting and do not fold them up, put them away and then take them out again very often so that may account for their longevity. But in the past I have hired lights just for a few days and it has cost more than buying these so they are pretty good value.
