I bought this same product 4 years ago and it looked great and worked perfectly....until someone hit it at 45 to 50 MPH. Anyway...I liked it well enough to order the exact same product to replace it.

I bought a stake for the ground to mount this because it is the way my old mailbox was secured in the ground. I found that I needed a 4x4 when using that stake and then the post fit over the 4x4. You could skip the stake and just use the 4x4 if you want to cement in the ground. Chose to use cedar 4x4.

This should last many years, I lost my mailbox when Hurricane Milton roared through & this is a superior replacement. I used a clear coat Rustoleum spray paint on the inner/underside portion of the post where the box attaches ( it looked like the paint finish was lacking.) this should prevent any premature rusting. I didn't like the screws that attach the post to the wood post, I stripped the head of one trying to get a tight fix, recommend drilling all the way in before attaching.

The unit is well-made and I’m happy with it overall. The only problem I saw is some parts of it are not painted very well. See attached photos.

This is a well constructed post and platform, The post is heavy gauge formed aluminum, slid over a 4x4 post best bedded in concrete, however the platform is not Aluminum, it's heavy gauge formed sheetmetal. It's also well made however, and should last for decades. 5 stars
