Asphyxiation Rescue Device, Professional Asphyxia First Aid Device for Adults and Children

This item looks like it will get the job done.It is a good idea to have it close by should you have need for it. Hopefully I’ll never have to use it but, as a lifesaver, it’s now part of my first responder kit. I believe it is more effective than heimlich and less traumatic for the victim.

Nothing to dislike. Plan to teach family to use it if I start choking as I have been known to do. Very frightening to choke with no help.

I got this Asphyxiation Rescue Device just in case. I will hopefully never have to use it, but I am a girl scout at heart and like to be prepared. It seems like it will work well. My husband doesn't always take his time eating, so this might help someday. I no longer have much strength and flexibility, so not sure if I could even do the Heimlich maneuver. I saw this on tv one time when a ladies baby was choking and a customer ran and got his. It helped then.

Fortunately I have not had to use this in an actual emergency situation, but I am confident it will work well. It did a great job providing solid suction power that will be able to clear most choking obstructions.

It gives me peace of mind knowing that my family has this simple rescue tool laying around. One of the most important things to me is that it's easy to use because an emergency is not the time to be reading instructions to figure out what to do or how to use it. This device is about as simple as it gets with a larger mask for adults and a smaller one for kids. We were able to easily teach our 8, 11, and 13 year olds how it would be used in a choking emergency without actually using it. My husband, a former EMT, thought it was important for me to mention that it might not be as effective on people with beards or other facial hair since a tight seal is necessary for it to work properly, so extra effort might be needed in those cases. I'm also not sure what makes this a 'professional device' but we're glad to have it handy. Although it's very lightweight and portable to take with you when you travel, it's a little bulky. It would fit well in a backpack or tote bag, but takes up a lot of room in my daypack and medium to large purse. I wouldn't recommend storing it in a hot vehicle over the summer either because the plastic could potentially warp. But we are planning on getting another one for travel because at this price, it's totally worth the inconvenience of transporting it to have it with us if we ever need it in a choking emergency!

This device has easy to use instructions. It comes with a child size mask and an adult mask. It is a great thing to have close at hand for an emergency. The price is good for piece of mind.
