really enjoyable
this film was a revelation. i took a punt on it, and was well worth it. the other reviews clearly summarise the plot, so i wont go into too much detail on that. what i really enjoyed about this film were the characters. they were realistic in many ways and although at times did dip into the waters of stereotype, they were on the whole well rounded and true to life. the acting was at a decent level, with martin donovon's portrayal of a conflicted pastor skip, and eva amurri martino as cassandra, the only jew in a christian high school, particular highlights. on the odd occassion the writing is a little clumsy, however this adds to the realistic nature of the characters, after all in life, people are cheesy & clumsy at times. one or two moments are over the top but this can be forgiven, for this is on the whole, an original, interesting and at times thought provoking film.

Still relevant in 2020.
This film still has a strong message in 2020. It highlights the hypocrisy on Conservative USA but at the same time shows true humanity and warmth of other Christians. Some great performances too.

A very quirky funny film
Having an offbeat sense of humour this film tickled my sense of humour big time. If you want to see some American film actors when they were much younger then you will some some faces here, such as Jena Malone (Catching Fire's Johanna Mason).Without giving any spoilers that is about all I can say

A great comedy
A little close to the bone, maybe, but this movie exaggerates everything which is refreshing. An enjoyable watch, I don't often laugh out loud that much!

Good.
Great film, i have nothing against religion but this was a little bit too much, bordering on stupid.
