Great travel watercolor brushes. Best for loose abstract painting. They did shed a bit even after I followed the insurer instructions for prepping before painting. They hold a good deal of loaded paint and water, they come to a nice thin point for brush work. They seem to be well made with beautiful wood base and a very sturdy well crafted steel bezel and cap. The vinyl travel case is well made not cheap and easy to pack up for a plain air painting (plein air- stupid voice text) I wouldn’t use them for paintings larger than 8x10 nor for commissions compositions. But they are fun for personal use.

Pros: 1. Beautiful sturdy brushes that hold paint well and are a joy to paint with. 2. They have great hand feel and comfortable weight to them. 3. They come in a nice sturdy beautiful leather pouch that makes them easy to transport and pack. I use them every time I paint whether traveling or not. 4. The barrel you insert the brush into is nice and wide so you don't run the risk of spreading the bristles. 5. They stay nice and secure when opened since they screw together as opposed to slip on. 6. They paint so smooth and clean. 7. The tip stays nice and sharp as well. 8. Fantastic value for the quality. Cons: NONE! I cannot speak to the professional quality of them as I am an intermediate watercolor painter and do not own super expensive brushes but I have used them almost daily since I purchased them and have had nothing but satisfaction for with these brushes. They really helped step up my game once I started using them. I wish there was a set of detail brushes like these available. I absolutely love painting with these brushes. Love them so much I bought two more sets with different size brushes!

These black squirrel hair brushes are great. I was skeptical at first from what I was seeing in the other recent reviews but over all I was pleasantly surprised. Now if you are not used to very soft bristled paint brushes then these might not be the ones for you, but they hold a lot of water very well and I started that hydrangea painting with them. After wetting them for the first time it’s to be expected that some hairs would fall out but hardly any came out and the brushes retained their shape afterwards (Second photo after soaking). Most of the reviews that I saw that mentioned issues were for mostly the synthetic hair brushes so, as far as I can say, the natural squirrel hair brushes are great and perfect for travel. Easy to use, easy to store, easy to clean, and affordable.

Decent quality travel brush set. I doubt the brush hairs are synthetic as suggested by several other reviewers. The hairs look and perform like natural hair or perhaps a synthetic and natural hair blend. They seem far too soft and absorbent to be pure synthetic The brushes hold a good amount of water and have decent snap. My main complaint is that the brush hairs are a bit uneven. So although they do hold a good point when wet, don’t expect the type of performance you’d get from a higher end sable. At this low price, I didn’t expect high performance brushes. The case is nice but it doesn’t seem like genuine leather, as advertised. Feels more like synthetic leather. Also, the brushes have air holes at the ends of the handles, so that the hairs can dry out if you cap them when they’re still wet, which prevents damage to the brush. Overall, a very attractive and functional travel brush set at an affordable price

I love my Fuumuui travel brush set! They are excellent quality brushes. The bristles are soft and hold a nice amount of water and pigment. They are easy to use and clean. The leather pouch is about 5.5 inches long and the largest brush is about 8.75 inches when open. They are well made and nicely weighted. Very comfortable to use. The bristles don't shed and have held their shape well. A great value for the money.

It's tough to find quality brushes for detailed portable plein air painting at this price point. These are excellent. I love the portability and the quality carrying case and they seem built to last a long time. Very pleased with these for my watercolors.

So far, I’ve only used one of the three brushes to swatch some watercolor paints in my sketchbook. Unfortunately, as you can see, that brush has already started losing its shape. While it still works, it is already more difficult to put back into its built in case and is harder to get crisp lines. I’m not rough on brushes by any means, so I was very surprised to see this. Overall, it’s a decent set, but I don’t know that it’s the best value for the price. The size of the brushes are good, I enjoy the feel of the brushes when holding them, and they do hold a decent amount of water, but losing its shape after only 2 uses is a big flaw.

A good size selection to cover general field watercolour painting. Nice real leather wallet and well made brushes. The set could easily pop into a shirt pocket! Recommended

Ignore any bad reviews and buy these if you are looking for travel or even everyday brushes that don't break the bank. I'm sure the older version may have had some legitimate quality control issues as most mass-produced things do, but these are well-designed, well-made and well-priced brushes. They fit together very well (they screw together so don't wobble or fall apart) and they don't shed hair. They do hold a lot of water and feel great. Having seen the price of brushes at my local art store, I think these are incredible value and I will certainly be buying more.

I purchased this brush set primarily for my travels, as I enjoy drawing and sketching on the go. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of three out of the four brushes in the set. They perform admirably, providing precise lines and smooth strokes, making them perfect companions for my artistic adventures. However, I encountered an issue with the fourth brush. Despite its promising design, the portion that screws into the brush doesn't stay in place as it should. This flaw becomes particularly problematic when I'm storing the brush away; it simply won't screw securely. Consequently, this brush's functionality is severely compromised, and it fails to meet the standards set by the rest of the set. While I appreciate the functionality of the majority of the brushes, the inconsistency in quality is disappointing. I hope the manufacturer addresses this issue to ensure that future buyers can enjoy a consistent and reliable product. In the meantime, I'll be contacting the seller to seek a resolution for the faulty brush.
