Zalman Copper CPU Cooling Fan CNPS10X OPTIMA

Hi, my Phenom II x4 955 BE CPU is very far from kept cool by this cooler. When it's working below 20% it's ok and keeps 45° but when it's loaded the temperature goes up to 75°. That's 10° over the stock heatsink was keeping my CPU. It's obviously not suitable for my CPU so please correct the description. I very very disappointed and I had to put back my stock heatsink...

It cools my FX-8120 without any issue. In the winter -it is so cool that I can't imagine how I used my stock cooler

I'm using this with a Maximus Hero IV Motherboard. In it's place it covers the first RAM slot, so make sure you're using low profile RAM or something which doesn't have a big heat spreader.

I like building rigs as a hobby mainly for gaming movies and Web browsing. My first effort long ago sounded like a Hoover, so I started looking more closely at specialized components. One of these products was the ZALMAN FLOWER which looked great as well as being quiet and effective. Ive always stuck to ZALMAN ever since, they make some the best, if not the best quiet coolers on the market. As long as you have good ventalation in my experience there will be no problems. My system at the moment is housed in a Thermaltake Mozart TX case, it has six fans, plus the CNPS10X which cools a E8400 O.C. to 3.56 MHZ. And its whisper quiet. I say this as I strayed from the path of air to water. The offender? Was the ECO COOLIT, the sound of the pump sounded like a skeleton doing something unseemly in a buscuit tin! For some people this is a minor irritation and not a problem, as Im used near silence I found it hard to live with and there was no advantage in having it. It lasted a month. ZALMAN RETURNS! And what a beast! A great product that looks good with a performance to match. Im sorry Zalman for ever doubting you. I deserve flogging. If you are looking at or are thinking of air cooling or even have an existing cooler that is noisy and just aint up to scratch, and you are just plain not satisfied with. Have a big enough case because this thing is BIG! Check out the videos on line and see for yourself.

Hi,Like i just said i have AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1 GHz OC to 3.9GHZ and my max temp playing Far Cry2 was 40c (i have 2 case fans, when they off CPU temp is around 49C)Can be noise at full RPM. I have it around 1500.Really happy good value for the money, definitely would recommend it to a friend

I wanted a silent cooler that looks good and makes my CPU stay cool. It was a little hard to install and takes up a lot of space. Thats why I took a star off.

Bought this a long time ago before finally attempting to install at the beginning of this year, having upgraded to a 1150 socket based system. Came with a 1155/1156 and of course this is exactly the same as a 1150 socket. However the holes simply didnt match up and we concluded it was a dud. So I went on zalman's site and contacted their customer support email for western europe. Two weeks later - no response. so i forwarded the email to the USA support email in the hope of hearing from somebody. 2 further weeks - still no response. Still waiting to hear back on my third attempt of forwarding it to every email address i seem to find for the company. I'm not even asking for an RMA, im more than happy to pay for the spare part considering its been around 3 years since the purchase, just to have the ordeal over with.5 stars for amazon service though as always, and i will adjust this review accordingly if i ever manage to get a solution and have a working product

Had it 4 years, still works perfectly. Cools i7 920 enough for 4.1GHz at 1.3v and Xeon x5660 at 4.2 at 1.28 I have mine facing up, with a 140mm fan above and a 120mm to it's left.Very quiet.I lapped mine, waste of time. Perfect as it is.Functional fan controller a total bonus.Would give it 6/5 if possible.
