Bought this as a white elephant gift since we have a 7 year old in the family and try to include her in the exchange. She brought this over on a cold winter day and it was so much fun! I love that there are ideas/examples of what to create on the shells on the outside of the box. We had so much fun thinking up how we wanted to decorate them. It says they are real shells but I think they are molded from clay-I could be wrong but there was thin, overhanging edges at the bottom of some of the larger shells. We decorated these to take to the cemetery and place on various headstones. These are water color paints so you'll need to spray with a clear coat if you plan on exposing to the elements. So many cute ideas - would be perfect for a wind chime etc.

The kit was so fun and included a variety of mediums, paint, clay, glue and glitter to create your own shell designs. It filled a full morning of fun and creating for us. It was worth the price, it had plenty of shells of different sizes, and it helped us make some special and colorful creatures. We have more shells to do a few more and plenty of supplies. It was a great purchase for us!
