Functional Beauty
This scale works efficiently and effectively. Even more to the point, it looks lovely on my counter top when we are not using it, which is most of the time. The design is graceful and elegant. Excellent value. Arrived quickly and well packed.

definitely would recommend it
loooooove this, I use it to weigh anything and everything in my kitchen, including meats. I love how you can just remove the metallic part and wash it and it looks so sleek on the kitchen counter.

Great scale!
This is a great scale. I do a lot of baking and weighing gives you more accurate measurements, so I really wanted a great scale. I love that you can either use the top it comes with or any other container. It looks lovely on my counter and it works great as well. I've not found any problems so far and I've been really happy with how it works!

Some things I wish I knew
1. This is a very nice looking scale from the picture. It is very light.Only about 3 pounds total. It is about 5 inches tall.10 inches long.4 inches wide. The plastic feels fairly cheap to me. Being that it is so light I am not sure how this would handle lets say if you dropped it. I imagine it would break pretty easily. The metal shell is nice. I do like how it works as in you can put your liquids or solids in and easily pour them into whatever container you want to next. The feet are rubber and stick well to the counter to keep them from sliding. They are also what weighs the content of the scale. What that means is that you dont want really drag the scale across the counter as you are bouncing the sensors all around. Pick it up and place it back down. Using the Tare function is easy. The scale is very sensitive. If you breathe on it, you will see the measurement change. It seems to have an accuracy of about +/- 1 gram. So if you need something that is specific down to the single gram you'll need to find a scale that reads in .1 grams. Once you press the Tare button let go of the scale and do not touch it while it zero's out. This will give you the best starting point. Joseph Joseph was intuitive enough to give you 1.5 seconds to let go of the scale so that it can get a proper zero without it measuring the force you are putting on it. Remember the scales are actually in the feet so every touch push or anything is felt in the feet. This is my first scale so I dont know if all scales are that way or not but this one is. Make sure it is sitting on a flat surface as well to get the most accurate reading. You can masure things without using the shell if you want to. It isnt the most stable but it is doable. You can put a plate on top of where the shell would normally go, zero out the place and make your measurements that way. You can do the same with a bowl too. Obviously it was designed and works best to be used with the shell but if you need a different method for a particular use you are not tied to the shell. The shell is made out of stainless steel and is non-reactive.The scale measures in grams, pounds, ounces, fluid ounces and milliliters. One of my confusions is how it is capable of measuring in fluid ounces and milliliters since both of those measurements are volume measurements not weight and therefore you really can use either of those two functions. 8 fluid ounces of oil weighs more than 8 fluid ounces of water so a fluid ounce is irrelevant when it comes to weight. As is a liter of soda and a liter of milk weigh a different amount so again volume and weight are two different things. 15 grams of flour is the same weight as 15 grams of lead (catch my drift)? So grams, pounds, ounces makes perfect sense to me but fluid ounces and milliliters dont seem useful. Correct me if I am wrong.Overall I do like this scale and would recommend it. Only cons I dont really like are the scales in the feet (providing that is abnormal) and that the plastic body feels fairly cheap. Overall a solid 4 out of 5 stars.UPDATE: I did find one other con that is a bit annoying, There is an auto-off feature to preserve the battery. Unfortunately, its way too quick. It takes about 90 seconds for this to turn itself off. It will turn off in the middle of measuring something. I wish I had known this before I bought it. Basically you have 90 seconds to measure your food and get it off before it turns off. Unfortunately, it loses another star because of this inconvenience. 3 out of 5.
