These are perfect for what I needed. I got the grey, as I wanted a muted color, and it is perfect. These are textured, like industrial carpet often is. They do have a "sticky" back, but it does not leave any residue, but ensures the rug stays in place. I have open backed stairs, and these do not slip. I don't have to worry about them sliding out the back. These also help to give my dog more confidence with using the stairs and not having to worry about slipping. We utilized them on our real wood stairs, very protective.

These stair treads have been a godsend. Our 14-year-old dog was increasingly nervous about walking down our bare oak stairs. These treads give enough cushion that he now walks down easily. Bonus: The soft carpet on the treads feels good on our bare feet as well! We chose the color Cornstalk Stripe, which blends in pretty well with the wood. And they were really easy to apply. Great product!

I live in a home that is close to 130 years old. The stairs are uncarpeted, and not in the greatest shape. Functional, but one of the stairs had a crack in the wood running almost the entire length of it. In addition to that, there were a couple nail heads that weren’t quite hammered down all the way and sticking up just enough to stub a toe on. The nail heads in question were located along the edges, unlikely to be stepped on but still an Invitation for injury. Not to mention that socks on feet running down or up bare wooden stairs could potentially cause injury as well. As a renter my options to make changes are limited. These stair treads were an excellent solution. I did not need to cut any of them down to fit, but it was nice to have that option. The adhesive backing is light but sufficient, and adheres well enough. The lightness of the adhesive is forgiving, very easy to lift the tread back up to re-position if needed. For me, that removed any pressure or stress about getting it right the first time. Having said that, the downside of a light adhesive is that the corners of them have a tendency to pop up a little bit at times. Standing on the offending corner for a minute is all that is needed. The light gray color is as described. The treads are utilitarian, so while they aren’t going to be the softest, they are soft enough on bare feet and get the job done. The built in ridges also help to remove dirt and debris. My dog had an accident on one of the treads, absolutely soaking it with urine which discolored it. After cleaning it with not even a whole lot of effort - you’d never know it ever happened. Overall, I’d recommend this set of stair treads. Good value for the money, renter friendly and not having to purchase anything separately to hold them in place is worth its weight in gold.

Easy install. I recommend cleaning stairs first. Then pulling the adhesive lining off and sticking them on. They do not leave a residue when pulled off.We bought them for our lab, since he had slippery issues with stairs. They have worked great to help him up the stairs and easily vacuumed!

I got these to prevent my dogs from slipping on the hardwood stairs. They work GREAT!!! They are also super easy to install, and pick back up if you need to. They stay where you put them and are also easy to vacuum. The color red works in my house well. Great deal that solve a serious situation!

I reviewed many carpet treads before buying this one. There is a tab attached to the plastic cover on the carpet back that makes removing this cover easy. With other companies removing the back cover is difficult. The carpet pile is short and easy to vacuum, especially if you have shedding dogs. It took me 15 minutes to put on all my steps. The tread is very securely held on the steps.

We have wooden stairs between the kitchen and playroom that our dogs have always struggled with as they've gotten older and their eyesight isn't what it once was and their pads don't grip like they once did. We just let them work it out. Then a couple of months ago we got a new puppy who would race up and down so fast that she occasionally slipped and fell down several steps. But worse, our older dog became even more resistant to using the stairs, either because her eyesight has gotten worse or she's seen the puppy's travails. We didn't want to carpet the steps, like we have on other stairs, because it would look funny in this location. So we researched the internet for options and came across this item on Amazon. After reading the reviews we decided to give them a try (they're not expensive) and if they looked like they'd leave a residue when we take them out, or if they looked tacky, we'd not use them.The color turned out to perfect for our dark stairs; they don't stand out and look like they were professionally installed. And the adhesive was PERFECT for our use. We read others say it didn't adhere well enough for their use or it left a mess when they tried to remove it, but that hasn't been our experience (but we haven't tried to remove permanently, just adjusted slightly).Best of all: our old dog is not nearly as reluctant to go up and down the stairs. Side benefit: the extra cushioning actually feels good to us as well!

I have written this review after more than a year with the treads on our stairs. After a bad tumble from sliding on the stairs without these treads, we bought them. They are amazing and so easy to apply and reposition months later. Do not hesitate to purchase these treads. They add a level of security on unprotected hardwood steps. We bought the brown to complement our brown hardwood floors. You can't go wrong with these. After one year I repositioned one tread that had every so slightly moved a fraction of an inch at the front where a footstep repeatedly pushed on the tread when going up the step. It was so easy to lift, wipe down the step, and reposition it. There was no sticky residue on the wooden step when I lifted it. I am so pleased with this purchase!!

I was sceptical at first as to whether these carpet strips would actually work or not. Happily, they work really well. We purchased them to help our old dog negotiate some slate stairs that have been varnished and were really slippery for her. The carpet has been down now for over a month and are in daily, constant use by the family and the old dog. They haven't moved at all and our dog doesn't hesitate to use them. They also blend in with the slate colour very nicely. They are of good quality and look like they should last quite a while. We are definitely pleased with our purchase and would recommend them.

Very sharp looking and work amazing so our dogs don’t slip down the stairs. Will definitely be buying more when we decide to change the Colours up. Affordable way to freshen up the entrance to the house.
