What does it taste like? I don't know what truffles taste like so when someone says it tastes like truffles what does that mean?

Honestly, I saw and bought this stuff for the exact same reason. The only thing I can say is that when I took a pinch and ate it to get a feel for it, the only description I can give is that it tastes like it would go good with cheese. That's really the only description I can come up with. It is its own flavor, which is why it is so hard to describe. I will sometimes add a dash to creamy, cheesy, or meaty dishes.

I bought this item and the 1st ingredient is "flavors", not truffles. Why is it so? Is it synthetic? I expected truffles to be the main ingredient!

Well... if it's not an actual truffle, I don't think I would expect the main ingredient to be truffles, especially with the prevalence of of chemicals like 2,4-dithiapentane in truffle products. I'm waiting for some company to have the balls to just put "2,4-dithiapentane: prepared by the acid catalyzed addition of methyl mercaptan to formaldehyde"" on the ingredients list and have done with it instead of this "natural flavors/truffle flavoring" nonsense.

Is this better than black truffle salt?

It's totally different, this has no salt in it. Also, a really good truffle salt with actual truffle in it will taste better (and saltier) but will be more expensive.
