I Have A PHD In Review Reading And A Secondary Bacheler's In Cutting Through The Crap
I read the reviews. OMG! Did I really want to buy this thing?!?I hate when they don't list the specs for something; it's what I go by, to a large extent. It turns out you have to buy it first, so you can look up the specs in the owner's manual. I have uploaded them for your convenience. (See pics) These aren't boundary-pushing specs, but for under fifty bucks, they're VERY respectable specs! I was pleased. I don't run a NASA lab. I fix, maybe, a really old stereo amp, I figure out why the trailer lights aren't working, I check AA batteries when a remote control is dead, I check for power when fixing or installing wiring so I don't electrocute myself. Just fine. The leads were a problem. So many meters to look through and I really liked this one, but it had weirded out leads with only the very tips of the probes exposed, which someone brought up in a review. The easy solution? Use all your reading skills and read ALL OF the product description and discover that the little plastic sleeves come off and the leads immediately turn into "regular" leads! (See Last Pic) This is actually a benefit!! Can you even imagine all the bent probes I've had on my many meters over the years, from pushing hard, trying to get a good connection? Not with those plastic sleeves in place! If you can't handle that, take the sleeves off when you get the meter and throw them away! Solved! (Don't forget to recycle)I was a little intimidated, wondering if this meter would be complicated to use and require a lot of memorization. NOPE! When you hit the big red middle button, it IMMEDIATELY switches to manual mode and starts flipping through all the different functions. The biggest problem I had was trying to figure out how to measure AC volts! I kept looking for an "AC Volts" function, which isn't there. Only "Volts". I went, "AHA!" and hit the "SEL" button and that switched it from DC to AC! Took under 10 seconds. If you can remember what the "SEL"(ect) button does, you've completed the memorization regimen!I have a Haoki meter that I had purchased in Japan years ago when I was in the AF and it DOES have pushing the boundary specs. If I need to know I'm getting a super accurate measurement, I've always grabbed that one right away. I connected that one and this one to two outlets on the same extension cord. The Haoki read 117.3 volts and this one read 118.0 volts when I did that. (Off-grid solar) That's considerably less than 1% and we don't know how much of that difference was cause by the Haoki. The power sense function works fine. If you hold the top left of the meter up against anything live - a power receptacle or a live run of Romex [TM] - it beeps and the light turns on either red or green, depending on the proximity.I haven't tried the temp sensor yet; that's how confident I am that it's going to work fine, too. It's hard to read in sunlight??? Really??? So, you're saying other LCD meters are easy to read in direct sunlight??? Is that what you're saying??? Boo Hoo!I COMPLETELY love the carrying case!! It's more hard than soft, it has a zipper, it folds apart, the leads are in a cargo net thing on one side and the meter is held by an elastic bunjee band on the other side! Not counting "in direct sunlight", like one reviewer was upset about, the display is SUPER easy to read! It's very compact, yet has a relatively large display! You are completely eliminating that big, complicated rotary function switch that can and sometimes does break at the worst possible time. And the generosity of the ranges!! Check out all the temp ranges it can measure! I'm actually calling it the best meter I've ever used at any price!! They were thinking when they designed it.I ma VERY pleased with this thing! (Price aside!!) Imagine how pleased I am with it after figuring in the price!! I can totally recommend this meter!! (Unless your luck is so poor, you get the one in a million broken one. You can't hold me responsible for that, if that happens.)

Great smart meter
Yes, this is a real nice accurate handy nice looking full feature meter. I checked the voltages and capacitance readings against another name brand meter, and it was right on target. The meter manual I received did fit in the case provided. The manual is clearly written and complete. The screen is nice and bright, but you may need to move over a bit at times to read the screen should not be a disaster. Auto ranging feature is handy as you make tests from ohms to volts works pretty fast and no need for switching. Stays active for 15 minutes and the turns off unless you turn off auto power off feature. Test leads are nice, but you may want to get the upgraded KW5023996 leads for bench work on a PC board. All in all, I am pleased with this meter. Price is just right also.Having all that the meter just this last week lost the ability to measure ohms. I contacted the company and also sent a video of the problem and was told more information was needed. I sent a second video and received from Amazon a response asking about my claim. To date I am waiting for instructions where to send the meter for them to test and or repair replace or refund. I hope that the service is what I would expect from a retailer on Amazon.Edit I did receive a replacement meter today and this one is working just fine.

An innovative meter, great value for the price. One High Voltage safety issue with manual range.
I have a full electronics laboratory and a collection of instruments and meters, including Fluke DSO and a Voltage calibrator. I was so impressed with the amount of functions in this meter and the rare 10,000 count display that I could not resist buying it.The reviews are very good, and there are few things that users nitpick about. Initially, the only thing I did not like is that the bargraph across the screen has a slow update rate. This makes the analog nature of the bargraph much less useful, especially when the meter is allowed to autorange. This is why some people like to keep an old analog meter with a mechanical movement and a needle on the bench. It shows variations in a DC or AC Voltage or current measurement that would be averaged out and hidden by a digital Voltmeter.I had so much fun testing all the functions, but eventually ran into a safety problem that resulted in being forced to reluctantly return the KAIWEETS Digital Multimeter to Amazon.I recently purchased the Kaiweets KM601 Smart Multi meter. I tested the accuracy with an AD584 Precision Voltage Reference to check2.50V, 5.00V, 7.50V, and 10.00V. The meter is accurate enough on both positive and negative DC Voltage. However, I found a software or hardware error in the way the meter handles the Over Range condition on the Volts mode. When measuring Voltages around 9.0V, 9.5V, 9.9V, 10.0V, 10.5V, the reading is accurate only when the meter is able to set the range automatically. Using the RANGE button to manually change the range results in very different and incorrect readings, instead of the expected "OVERRANGE" reading that the meter usually presents. For users that NEVER touch the RANGE button, this may not be a problem. The smart meter always selects the best range and automatically moves to a new range if the parameter being measured changes. In a scenario where there is a reason for a user to force the autorange to STOP changing range as the measured parameter value changes, this meter reports wildly different Voltages on different ranges. For example, a correct reading of 10.50Volts will be accurate when in autorange, but will display a completely unrelated digital error that looks like a fixed Voltage such as 1.93Volts - While there is actually 10.50Volts present at the meter inputs. This causes a hazard if a person is trying to see if a Voltage is low enough to be safe to touch or to charge a lithium battery. If the RANGE button was used for some reason, the reading will be very low Voltage and could lead to a shock or electrical damage to components or destruction of a lithium battery.I will wait for the next version of this meter and buy it again. If you own one, please use another meter in parallel with this one to verify the reading is correct whenever you use the manual RANGE button.

Extremely good
Unreasonably good and accurate
