Great old-timey Steam Punk lamp (mountable on wall)
I had a special need for my office: I needed a lamp I could mount on my wall, but everything I looked at was boring. I found this by accident, and at 90 bucks(!!) I was hesitant. I hemmed and hawed for almost an hour before buying this (after looking at reviews and other lamp options). Naturally, since I gave it 5 stars, you know that i love it. But I also know that some people don't like the dimmer switch that it comes with. Meh . . . where are you going to find an old-timey working in-line dimmer switch these days anyway? If you can, you can easily swap it out.I like the old-fashioned nylon cord. That is a real plus for me. Aldo, the dimmer "wheel" (more like a cone) is set so that you have to spin the wheel to make the light come on (dim) and keep spinning to adjust to your desired brightness. This is only a mild p.i.t.a., and if you have a remote wall plug (control your lights with a remote, or Alexa, or something) then this is not even an issue. The red wheel just spins, but it is a nice touch. I ditched the lightbulb it came with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you order an "Edison style" light bulb when you buy this. I got a 40 watt, but you can go ( a lot) higher wattage, as long as you stay with the "standard size" light bulb. Anything larger and you can't close the "wire cage" that protects the bulb.OH! OLASO: Grab a screwdriver and unscrew the cage from the lamp socket. Well, it just sits on the lamp socket, and it falls off when you unscrew the lightbulb. What I did (and I recommend) is to unscrew it (slot head) and nudge it up one "speed bump" over the base of the socket. Then tighten it back down. This will hold the cage in place forever. Simple hack that makes this much nicer. I screwed six 1 5/8th" wood screws into a plaster/lathe wall and the thing holds nicely. That's why it looks sideways in the image. Anyway, yeah it's ninety bucks, but a month from now I will forget how much I spent on this thing and I will like it for years. Real plumbing by the way. You could probably DIY this with some bronze paint. but I like the convenience of having it professionally made. Hope this helps. Post pics if you end up getting this.

Great showpiece lamp!
This is used in a municipal city office for a water department in our lobby. We've received many compliments on it. Wouldn't mind having one for home but they were sold out. Great value.
