I have a countertop compost container with a round lid that accepts these carbon filters. I don't replace them all that often because when I put kitchen scraps in it, I typically cover the scraps with coffee grounds, which effectively blocks any odors. I just purchased a second compost container, and will use it exclusively for kitchen scraps, so I will start replacing the filters regularly. They are a nice fit for my lid, but your mileage may vary, based on what type of compost container you have. One thing I have had happen with other brands is that the disk is too large for the lid, and the edges fold up. This allows for fruit flies to get into the compost material generating, you guessed it, more fruit flies. I fought with them for about three weeks trying to get their numbers under control before I realized where they were coming from. These filters seem to fit better than the ones I originally bought, so I don't have concerns that fruit flies will be an issue with these. Even if I replace the disk every two or three weeks, this pack will last me for several months, so it's a great bargain.

It's a little thinner than the original ones that came with the bucket and it will dropdown into the bucket at times because the diameter is just a smidge less thanthe original as well. Actually, in frustration, I just put the lid downside up with a fruit fly attractant butterflyon top and it works fine in containing the odors. Problem solved

In replacing the oem filters I thought that two round filter might work. When I pulled the used filters out of the lid one was round and the other was square. I woundered if round would fit so I tried the round one and it fit very well. Bottom line I replaced both filters i the counter top compost container. They work well and there is still no smell from the container. Good product and great price.

I just put these in the compost bin lid yesterday. They were a great price point and seem to be doing what they advertise.

But I cut them with kitchen shears and they are perfect now. The compost smell is not evident.
