wasted opportunity to be a mastepiece
I've tried really hard to like this game, and it is with great disappointment and a somehow heavy heart that I uninstall it and leave a negative review... No matter how hard I tried, I really can't enjoy it.I'm always complaining about games that don't have a good story or a solid background; this game does, so it should have been everything I have ever wanted, but the problem is that the story is all that there is to this game. Basically, you are dumped into an extremely articulated lore without explanation, and then fed an encyclopaedia of information on it through a ton of dialogue. And that's it. You just walk all over the place, talking with a lot of NPGs who love to hear the sound of their voice and who will talk your ears (eyes actually, since you are reading all this stuff) off and give you tons of pointless side quests that you will solve by going to talk to other people... During dialogues, you just go through all the topics one after the other, without ever making a real choice, because nothing you do has any real consequences. There is no action whatsoever, as most fights can be avoided by talking, and the few fights you stumble across feel more like punishment, as they are extremely slow, monotonous, repetitive and a bit frustrating. The main story crawls on bit by bit, but what really lacks is the emotional involvement. Your character is as flat and insignificant as can be, and you cannot even personalise them; the companions try their best to be interesting, but the limited interactions with them always feel emotionless; you have no choices and when you do they really don't matter; for being an RPG, you have an extremely limited pool of abilities and you almost never use them, as most of them only influence silently the result of the uses of your Strength, Agility or Intellect pools. In other words, this game feels like a barely interactive, scarcely engaging book which got clumsily fused with a detailed encyclopaedia of its own universe. I hate to, but I cannot recommend it unless you are looking for a lot of pointless dialogues; I feel that this game is a huge opportunity wasted, as it could have been a masterpiece if it had a bit more heart and not only brain.

So wanted this to be good
Absolute garbage of a game worst I played in a long time. I lived Baldurs gate and pillars of eternity was pretty good and I'm big fan of crpgs so it ain't t coz I'm cod and GTA fanbiy quite the opposite in fact but this just plays like a broken game and did in fact crash and stutter in first five mins too talk about first impressions. Graphics looks worse than twenty year old Baldurs gate too some the back grounds and effects are cool but the characters even I could prob draw a better computer character etc and I'm definitely not artistic etc. I even preordered this game will never ever preorder a non Nintendo game again I think that are only company I trust to preorder from so glad subduing back this game through kick-starter also the combat is seriously broken the inventory management and UI in general is pretty bad such a shame as I normally love these sort of games but honestly can't recommend this seriously get a cheap old pc rig and play Baldurs gate with a mouse or pillars I think that runs on a cheap AMD etc you will have a lot more fun

2 stars.
The case came broken..enough said. The game was brand new and sealed and it came damaged. Disc is fine but the case wasn’t. The fact they don’t check the item before they sell it says enough.

Bad limited
I m italian and exile promised my language during kickstarter. 1 month ago they announced that game will not have ita subtitles. For a big and professional company isn't a good point. Also they should planned before how much introducing other languages.BTW let someone talk about stuffs inside.Made in China under statue it's so sad. Map is little, artbook could have more pages and little bit bigger. Also pendant it looks so Chinese and something you can find in distributors for children.Guide for travellers is only a small magazine to explain basic of game. That s all and without explaining game.I give 2 stars instead one only cause get could be only think little bit good in this limited edition.

Great for patient RPG'ers
Interesting RPG gameplay but expect to read a lot of stuff. Bugs in certain scenarios are very frustrating.Story seems to jump into major crisis battles when not expected causing some irritation.

Very meh
Lots and lots of talking! Only played for about 3 hours and it's a tad boring so far. Guess it's an ok game for the price but that's all i can really say about it

Amazing game
Delivery came as planned. The game itself is amazing. I bought it for my friend for her birthday and she was truly amazed. I am thinking about buying it for myself.

A worthy successor to the original
Oh yes, back to torment (not marriage level). The dialogue writing is superb, options for all events are fantastic (so far) losing far too much time to this...
